When you skip meals the body doesn't have any energy to run on, so it retains fat to use as energy. So actually, not eating for a day would not make you skinny, you'd actually gain weight.

Actually, no, and for a couple of reasons.

1) Very few people can actually "fast". Most people break down and overeat once their fast ends. The body was not meant to go without food

2) Eventually, your metabolism will slow, making it hard to lose any weight at all

3) After a while of not eating or eating very little (this does take a little while, mind you), your body goes into what is called starvation mode. It knows no food is coming in, so it hangs on to every last bit of fat in your body for sustenance. When this happens, you don't lose weight either.

The best way to become thin is to exercise regularly (5-6 times a week) and eat a low-calorie diet.

NO!!!!! if you don't eat you body will feed itself on you muscle mass and you can get sick.
If you want to lose weight the right way, stay far away from the fast food joints, drink a gallon of water a day, eat foods that are good for you and in moderation. Take a GOOD daily vitamin. try eating dinner on a salad plate instead of a large dinner plate. It will give the illusion of eating more food while your actually eating a proper proportion of food. Get some exercise. Take the stairs instead of elevators, walk around the block adding blocks as you get comfortable,

That is absolutely NOT advised. It's not a healthy way to lose weight. If you really wanna eat less, add some fibre to your diet ... lots of it. There's farine, wholewheat bread, anything with lots of roughage and there are high fiber cookies. The only one I can direct you to are the cookies...the others are readily available everywhere...Find the cookies at http://www.weight-here-please.com

No! It would fake your body out making it think you were starving it. Then when you do eat, it will store more fat to protect itself from starving. You must eat healthy and exercise to loose weight effectivly.
