That would be great, but the day I find a Christian who is that selfless, I'll have seen everything. It's a nice idea though. A nicer idea would be not sending people to a pit of eternal torment in the first place.

Hell by definition contains no solace or comfort for the damned. It is just that, hell/hades/the underworld, the place for damed souls to be punished for their sins on earth and in life. You can pray for these people, but when it comes to eternal judgement you are just that, the judged not the judge. Just being a "good person" doesn't get you to heaven, accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and not just beleving his teachings to be true but practing them every day. Forgiveness, love, understanding, control = salvation. We are all humans and all suffer from these predispositons but the realization that you and I are here to serve is what sets us apart. I really don't think that anybody that is already in Hell would wish that tourment upon you to come and attempt to give them comfort, which there is none to be found.

By what premise is this person destined to Heaven? Their faith in Jesus Christ? Or that they were a good person? Do they not presume that their eternity in Hell would not be so agonizing that they could see past their own pain and torment to comfort someone else? What assurance do you have that you could even find this person to whom you want to offer comfort? How do you know they are in Hell? Are you willing to risk the salvation of your own soul to possibly console another? By using the word "destined" you open the door to "predestination" which by virtue of "pre" would mean that it was determined on your behalf. That being the case, you cannot negate a predestined outcome.
So, as well meaning as you may think you are, you should consider the status of your own eternal soul.
My mother killed herself. Were I Catholic, I'd believe that she was in Hell for her sin. And she may be. I don't know. I'm not God and can neither judge her heart nor ever be in a position to do so. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Nevertheless, I would not even consider giving up my eternal life with Christ on the premise that she is A) in Hell, and B) that I could comfort her if I found her.

We ALL have a choice to make..choose Jesus..choose life eternally in heaven or rebel by not choosing Him, therefore choosing hell. You will not be offering any solace or comfort in hell, as you too will be begging for release from there. NOW is the time to choose life before its to late. By choosing life NOW you will be able to offer those in need of comfort here on earth by telling them about Jesus and helping them avoid needing solace from hell.

Heaven is boring, where you can see all the peoples are sitting well dressed and quiet - facing God. But in the hell you can see a lot of activities, and you can have a good time passing. Some of them maybe frying them self for their sins, and some of them maybe jumping downside, lots of fun to watch. Opt for hell

For eternity? I doubt it. Plus, there's no such thing as solace and comfort in hell. And once you're in, you're in, no going back. I highly doubt anyone would ever do that.
EDIT: No, you would never be holier than the King of Kings, no matter what you did. If you wanna go down to hell and give comfort to people who don't deserve it, that's your problem....but you still can't save them.

I'm sorry but I have to be blunt here.
if you were to choose to go to hell, you would not be holier or better than Jesus. You would be a fool. You cannot offer comfort to people who will forever be separated from God, which you would be if you went to hell. So if you are forever separated from God, you would be miserable and therefore unable to give anybody comfort.

I think the reason God created Heaven and Hell was not as a way of punishing or congratulating. He just does it out of respect. For example if someone doesn't believe in Him, He won't make them live in a kingdom where everything is glorifying something they don't believe in. So, if someone tells God they'd rather not be in Heaven and wish to be sent to Hell, I think God would follow through.

Oh c'mon! Solace and comfort? In Hell? Why don't we just send hookers into jails to make it easier on the inmates? Or maybe send a maid in to clean up Bin Laden's cave? After all it must be so hard on the poor guy.

Read Dante's Inferno. It includes a very interesting discussion in which Dante only progresses away from sin when he stops "feeling sorry" for the souls in Hell.
