It will run just fine on Linux or Mac but putting LimeWire in a Windows Machine is not a wise thing to do because Windows can be infected by viruses and trojans and all kinds of malware where as Linux or Mac cannot.
If you are running Windows you would just be asking for trouble.
LimeWire will not even work on Vista because the ports that LimeWire uses for file transfer are blocked.

I've used limewire in the past seem OK and spyware free but I wasn't over impressed with it performance my personal favourite is Shareaza which can be downloaded from http://www.shareaza.com/ although you have to tweak a few settings it out performs limewire with fast searches and downloads it's also more informative about the connection and download speed you can expect and it's spyware free.

Even if you have anti-spyware, there are two major risks you take by using limewire:
1) Downloading harmful files onto your computer that might hide themselves from anti-spyware.
2) Getting caught illegally downloading videos, and have to pay a larger fine that it costs to just buy the videos.

If you have money to buy the videos from iTunes, don't take the risk. If you don't, I still don't advise you to.. But nobody's stopping you.

Using Limewire, Morpheus or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, to steal any copyrighted music, movies, software etc. in illegal in the USA.

The software itself is legal. What most people use the software for is not. Think of a gun. Owning a gun is legal, shooting people with it is not.

It is very rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this girl here:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/09/09/the_riaa_sees_the_face/

Also, many of the files that are downloaded using these programs are bundled with viruses, trojans, spyware, and adware. Always scan everything you download using any P2P program with your anti-virus and anti-spyware software before you use then.

It's your decision.

Limewire is meant to be quite a good program and a lot of my friends use it. They have not had any problems.

Dude, videos for your iPod have to be in a certain format (mp4). You can download online videos (from youtube, google, dailymotion, etc.) and convert them for your iPod using this link: http://vixy.net/
No extra software programs needed!

Limewire is ok, but if you download an avi or mpeg video file, then you may need to convert it before putting it on your ipod and that can be a pain.

LimeWire is loaded with spyware and possible even viruses. I highly suggest not getting it. Get eMule Plus instead, it's open source and does not come bundled with any spyware/viruses.

You COULD, but it'll EAT all your bandwidth, even if you're only getting a small download speed,.. you're better off looking for newsgroups with a small program called Grabbit,.. do some research on it,.. you should come up trumps! :)
