By obvious symptoms you mean being thirsty? Sometimes feeling hungry is a way your body asks for water.

Dehydration is the term for not drinking enough water.
Symptoms can be:

Dry or sticky mouth
Low or no urine output; concentrated urine appears dark yellow
Not producing tears
Sunken eyes
Markedly sunken fontanelles (the soft spot on the top of the head) in an infant
Lethargic or comatose (with severe dehydration)
In addition to the symptoms of actual dehydration, you may also have vomiting, diarrhea, or the feeling that you "can't keep anything down," all of which could be causing the dehydration.

Not mentioned is getting a headache.

Your body is mostly made of water. Drink 8 to 10 glasses (8 oz or 1 cup size) every day. Your body needs it.

Believe it or not... hunger! When we're thirsty and aren't drinking enough, the body takes more drastic measures. It sends signals to the brain that the body needs fed... the brain then sends out the signal to the body that it's hungry!
I'm sure thats why so many people over eat, because they don't know this 'secret'.

Dry lips, dry skin, headaches and you may even lose the ability to feel thirsty. Drink up and in a few days you'll feel better and get the thirsty feeling back too.
