I've polled our nonbelievers and haven't received one response that says that they haven't read/heard the gospel and understood it. My question to you is according to Mark 6:11 if we reject your message, you're to leave us and dust off your feet as a sign of warning to us. So, why are you still here?
I'm not advocating anyone leaving.. just curious as to why you continue to spread a message that we've all heard and rejected, when that's what your bible tells you to do.

dze, why do you assume I'm not religious? One can be religious and not a christian, or were you not aware of such a thing?

Hey, it's your bible, your god tells you to leave, not me.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

It was a nice try, but I didn't see any DIRECT answers yet.

It would have been nice (and funny!) to have seen a "Oops! My bad!"

Why are we here? Why are you hear? Great you can read a verse from the bible. But can you HEAR and SEE? God loves all and if His followers pray for the unbelievers God may or might grant an unbeliever repentance, so that they may also see God.
So you know your gospels good you should also know then that God blinded the eyes and hearts of man, they have a veil over their heart so they cannot see or fathom the truth.
And further more I also was once an unbeliever and so sure I was right and heard and saw the truth of the bible. So sure that the bible was hypocritical, boy was I wrong. My point being you 'think' you know what is going on you think you have it all figured out. Search your heart and soul, seek a true answer.

This type of place is not the same as if we were to be in a room with just a certain amount of people, this is the internet, SEVERAL people come on a day, new people at that- we are going to continue sharing the word here because it is public- just like people who go out on the streets to share the gospel, they run into new people everyday.
If that person does not want to hear, we do not hunt them down and try to ge them to listen---If you ever get an e mail from another christian who is persistent in making you listen, then you can point the finger and ask why they are doing what the Bible says not to. But here, in Yahoo, the gospel is going to be shared as we pray the Lord will draw many to him that come here everyday---those that do not want to listen, simply can leave that question or comment. I would never hunt someone down to make them listen. Only God can soften a person's heart- and I pray He does! But all I can do is share His wonderful gospel and pray someone receives it.

Matthew 13 1 That day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting by the sea. 2 And large crowds gathered to Him, so He got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd was standing on the beach.
3 And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow; 4 and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. 5 “Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. 6 “But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 “Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out. 8 “And others fell on the good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. 9 “He who has ears, let him hear.” 18 “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19 “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. 20 “The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22 “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23 “And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

I guess Christians are hopeful for some good soil.

We are still here because it is the "Religion & Spirituality" section. Duh.

The same Bible also commands us to "give an answer" to anyone who would question. You seemed to miss that one.

We are not bothering you, rather it is you whom are coming here of your own free will and asking us questions about God (Most of which are silly questions that you could have easily answered yourself, I might add, if you had actually read the Bible as you claim). It is not like we are coming over to your house or workplace and bugging you.

So, why are YOU here if you don't want to hear it?

---------------------------------
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Did they hear it from someone who followed the rest of his directions in that passage?

Mark 6:8These were his instructions: "Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. 9Wear sandals but not an extra tunic. 10Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. 11And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them."

Did they hear it from people that had results like this?

Mark 6:12They went out and preached that people should repent. 13They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Jesus was talking to the twelve disciples in this passage. In another passage he sends out 70 people it would be interesting to see what the differences are. I don't recall right off hand...

You say "we have all heard & rejected". Who is this "we" u are talking about. Every day thousands of people are being converted, this proven by the fact that christianity is one of the most rapidly growing religions. This "we" u are talking about is just a few that have ears but will not hear, a few of the roots that have fallen on the rock & have withered & dried up.You are not speaking of the vast majority of those who are hearing the message & are choosing our Lord. The "we have all heard & rejected" is just a very small few that have been misled by satan.

GOOD QUESTION!

The fact that those, such as yourself, who choose to reject the Bible keep coming back to ask questions, and even study the Bible, or parts thereof, really makes me believe you are searching for truth and want to accept Jesus as your God and Savior! I know very few Christians who continue to try to learn about other religions unless they are dissatisfied with what they have and want to convert to something else.
Ask away and may God bless your search for Truth!!!!

For me it's simple - my primary reason for being here isn't to spread the Gospel (I try to do that by the way I live.) I'm on this site to learn and share what I do know. There are people who post honest (and often very good) questions about Catholicism and I like to try to help when I can.

Do people still think that atheists are atheists due to a *lack* of exposure to religion? If anything, we have had more exposure to it than most people - so much that we have finally figured it out and rejected it as utter hogwash.

I love the way it is assumed that we've never heard the message, when many of us spent our early years surrounded by theists and have read the Bible, the Qu'ran, the Torah, Dianetics, and everything else we can get our hands on.

The answer by "mibandibe" is RIGHT ON!!!

Stop acting like it's ALL about YOU - It's NOT - There are OTHER
people in this world who DO want to hear about and RECEIVE the Mercy and Grace of God by putting their faith and TRUST in the Lord Jesus who DIED for them.....and WHO are you to try to keep that person from hearing and receiving the salvation that
YOU want no part of!!!

As usual, the secular humanistic, anti-God, anti-Christian left love
to scream and yell about TOLERANCE, but it is THEY who are always the LEAST tolerant and the most ARROGANT of all!!!

"DO AS WE SAY, NOT AS WE DO," ....Yeah right.....and that is what totally turns me off on them -- Not their individual sins or anything like that, but it's all of this P.C. NAZI GARBAGE and the way that they PRESUME to speak for everyone, like the ACLU, et all does....

Well, you do not HAVE to believe in God or trust Jesus for your eternal salvation. We can't FORCE you and God never will and He COULD if He wanted to, knowing what awaits everyone who dies without accepting Jesus, but FORCING someone would make Him just like satan and He IS NOT!!!

When you can see by the question that it has to do with salvation and eternity and heaven or hell, why don't you just move on and answer another question,....but you (atheists, etc) just like start-ing another confrontation for the sake of it...Or is it that deep in-side that you're not so sure of your position afer all and it makes you feel better to bash others for what they believe.....

Yes, I know the verse you speak of as well...the comments that I have read here in response to my questions and others bring it to
mind, but I am NOT going to leave here just because it makes the
atheists uncomfortable or whatever.

There are people who are sincerely seeking God and want to know about the salvation that He offers through His Son, as I al-ready stated, and if I can help them at all, I am going to stay here
and answer questions....because someone will come along and see that answer or someone will email a question to someone and they will come here and find eternal life through that question
or another.

God uses the simple and weak things of this world to comfound the wise....and that includes using human beings - and NOT His angels -- to spread His Gospel to the ends of the earth, whether
YOU (atheists, et al) like it or not.

Many are called, few are chosen....
If you don't want God's grace, you're not chosen.
It's your choice, but that's where it ends....

He who has an ear to hear, let him listen.....
