I have not been happy for a while in my relationship, but can't seem to move beyond the intense happiness that we felt at the beginning. Is it unrealistic to think that that could come back? How do I move on? Makes me so sad to think of not being together anymore. Probably just as sad as the relationship itself makes me.

You know its over when you are with someone and feel completely alone. Knowing that there is no future is a big step. Its just time to say.... I've been thinking about this for a while and we both deserve happiness, and its just not here for us. And then move on. Its hard work, I did this to a guy I was with for over 3 years. WE are best friends now and should have NEVER dated. We NEVER got along that great except for the beginning and we lasted WAY TOO LONG... You cant fear the future. YOu need to go for it... Just think: The guy you are meant to be with forever could notice you are taken and never make a move. You cant stay somewhere that doesnt make you happy... Life is way too short for that. Good luck

Better content alone than miserable in a relationship. In the begining everything is honky dory because nobody really starts being themselves yet. Once the flaws, issues and habbits come out, that's when the relationship goes down hill, fast if it turns out you are not as compatible as you thought you were. You don't say how long you've been in this relationship so that puts limits on suggestions. The way I see it, you got two choices....Either try to make it work or call it quits and move on. Make a list of the other person in the relationship's qualities, good and bad, and see which outweights which. Ask yourself if these are qualities you are willing to live with and then make your choice....best of wishes.

its our natural ,we leave on some memories that sometimes make us sad and sometimes happy but when we remember the good thing we wish that it could come back so that we could prove that w were right from the beginening and we didnt waste our time, also the fear from not having another relation ship in the mean time and the fear of being alone
just think about the things thats used to make u happy and think if it will make as happy as before when they happened and if it still do just try to work it out with ur partner if not then try to end it with any way and be cruel on urself

***************BEST ANSWER HERE**************
Because you have adapted to the convenience of having someone on a regular basis.
You have become accustomed to routine of day to day interactions with your partner (good or bad).
Nothing wrong with that, but after awhile you'll find your relationship with no direction or purpose. Some people wait until it's too late.
If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, it's time to step.
What's right is not always popular, and what's popular is not always right.
Define what YOU want and then execute..

Good luck!

is something is as brain washing as that then you definilty need to leave the situation you should never live on past memories its a mistake and will cause more problems in the future ! you owe it to your self to find happiness for today not yesterday or last year! lets just say i was once happy with the father of my child and he got my cousin pregnant should i of stayed with him because he gave me money and we was once happy

you've just grown used to this person being in your life and once your used to someone it's hard to get them outta your system, the best way to get over them is to just cut all ties and communication with them until you know that your over them, at first it'll hurt alot but as time goes on and you remain active and busy and don't speak or see this person it won't fase you at all and you will have moved on trust me I was in the same situation as you so I can speak from experience!
