Not only have we lost the concept of private conversation, but consideration for others has fallen to an all time low. Mind you, I am not against cell phones, I have one and love the convenience. What I am against is people who feel the world is their living room.
Lastly, for those of you who might be riding the LIRR 5:19 train this evening, please keep me in mind. I'd like to nap instead of being forced to listen to your conversation.

That is so funny you bring this up... I recently was visiting a friend and I asked her why all her neighors were outside in this cold weather on the phone.... She told me since they live in mobile homes they do not get a signal until they go outside...
I figured they wanted everyone to know how important they were..

No....most people that talk constantly on a cell phone act as if no one is listening....and usually they are right.
It annoys the hell out of me to hear a chatter box sitting next to me just yakking away......I don't pay attention to anything that is said.

Yes, and courtesy. People need to get a headset if they are going to talk and drive.
