Some people seem to think that when talking on a cell phone you HAVE TO TALK REALLY LOUD. Maybe the early cell phones were like that, I don't know, I've only had mine for a couple years. But I don't see the need to shout like that, usually the connection is fine. I don't usually shout into someone's face either, I can get sarcastic but I rarely if ever start to yell and scream even when I'm mad.

No I do not shout into my cell phone in public... I speak softly and cover my phone so everyone around me does not hear my conversation. I am not the only one on this earth... like others

If a person must do this (in public) - then what he/she really needs to do is find a quiet place and then use the cell phone.
I find it rather irritating hearing someone talking on a cell phone while shopping anyway; it's rude and inconsiderate of other shoppers.

OMG you're SOOO right....people don't know how to talk on a cell phone that they think they need to shout....

SOO annoying....i remember hearing a man shout in his cell phone...we were in a crowded restaurant, and he was shouting so loudly about his hemorrhoids!

No, I don't but for some reason every time my mom uses her cell phone it is like she is trying to have somebody on the moon hear her. If she calls me from her cell I have to hold the phone about a foot away from my ear in case she bursts my eardrum.

No. And as a PSA: if you know/ love someone who does this, PLEASE tell them. Tell them and explain that it comes across as if they think they're the greatest thing in existence and that everyone around them thinks they're a jerk and conceited.

My brother is like that and I reamed him about it and now I notice he's very quiet. Another option? Get off your bum and step outside if you can't hear the phone conversation properly. If I'm at the cafe and get a call, I jump up and step outside the door. It's just common sense. Most people don't realise they're doing it and once they see how it looks to people, they'll change. Unless they are a jerk.

No as a matter of fact I try not to take call in public unless it's an emergency.

I would only do that if it were someone I'm comfortable being around. My fiance and I, for example, yell all the time. :) I try to keep it down in public, though.
