my bf has expressed to our counsellor that he has never felt a deep spiritual connection with me which he said he had with previous gfriends. well if thats the case then why is he still with me after three years and not with them. i think he feels something else with me much stronger than with his exs. am i right or wrong?

It's difficult to judge if you are right or wrong.
Why is he with you and not them? Who knows - relationships end for all sorts of reasons. That's a question you need to put to him directly.
The 'deep spiritual connection' it is a component that he believes is missing in your current relationship. That isn't your 'fault', it is just the dynamic between the two of you.
As for stating that he feels something much stronger with you than with his exs - has he said that? Unless he does, then you can't assume that. Even if you have been with him longer than any previous girlfriend.
Maybe in your next counselling session you need to bring up your point of view and see what his reaction is. At least then you will know once and for all.

You are right on. What he feels for you is a very strong sexual attraction. What he is missing is the mental connection, that he describes as spiritual. This has to do with shared beliefs, and common thoughts that two people can have at the same time. What does he really want from you? Would you/could you be willing to change? Would/could he? He seems to be on the domineering side under the guise of seeking advice. Always have a back-up plan and don't be hurt. Best wishes.

maybe hes just in love with you/ he wouldnt be with you if he didnt like you surley/? and at least he is being honest a rareity in some men!
