WindowsXP-KB917425-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB922760-x86-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-KB925454-x86-ENU.exe

when i install the first one, it asks for rebooting but i check the checkbox of "do not restart now". then i install second one and againt dont restart. continuing this way i install all of above one by one without restarting even once. finally, after application of last one (above updates are in alphabetical order- so newer ones are later), i restart. will such practice result in correct and optimal application of all updates, or should i restart each time after applying an update?

Sometimes a restart is required and sometimes it's just a good idea. Most installs from the MS site will run through all the updates and only reboot at the end. However, there have been a few occasions where it needed a restart in the middle of installing 32 updates.

My advise would be to restart when it says to restart and save yourself any big headaches.

Yes, I occasionally have to completly erase my desk top pc and re-install everything. There's like 57 things that go on mine. Then I have to un-install some programs I don't need. Then, after it's all ready, then there's like 75 windows updates that I keep getting notices for, or my computer prompts me that the need to be installed. Many of them, including SP2, and others require the pc to be re-started. This is normal in Windows XP based pc's.For updates of Windows, real player, adding new browsers, and many software programs, you NEED to re-start in order for the updates to work properly. This is totally normal. Do not un-check boxes that say pc must be re-started. If you do that, the updates aren't finished being installed. I just had 2 IE7 updates this morning. The pc needed to be restarted for that too. Good luck.

yes it can, but you can restart after all the updates are done not just one at a time. That will keep you from having to find out where you left off in you download process.

you're able to reinstall residing house windows, there is no longer thank you to "patch" precisely the neglected records and residing house windows would not have the utility to place in and uninstall the protection center on my own. next time returned up your equipment with Acronis real image, it saves residing house windows with each and all of the put in utility. happy day !!
