and if it isn't genetic, the animals are making a "lifestyle choice"

if it is genetic, then God creates gay people and then calls them an abomination. Isn't that a bit unfair?

you ppl are dense: the point is obvious. animals exhibit homosexual behavior because its genetic, if it's genetic then God has no right to condemn humans for it. Get it??
I am straight by the way, just hate this gay christian argument about "lifestyle choice"

bacha: pedophilia, like rape, is harmful to society and society has an interest in controlling that behavior (even if the Bible specifically PROMOTES rape). Apples and oranges.

homosexuality is genetic and found in all animals (even human). and God didn't create gay people and call them an abomination...he called them his children, along with all humans. it is his "followerers" who are judgmental idiots (even though in the Bible, we are told not to judge) that call homosexual people an abomination.

There's a big difference between animal genetics and human genetics. Some species of animals use "homosexual" tendencies to establish the "alpha male" or lead dominant male in a group. Humans don't do anything like that! It is definitely a lifestyle choice for both, though the animals don't USE it as a show of "love", only dominance over the rest of the same sex.

Genetics is not the only source of involuntary conditions. Intra-uterine conditions can affect the fetus; and events after birth can also produce long-term consequences. So, homosexuality could be an involuntary condition without being genetic.
The causes of homosexuality are by no means clear, either in animals or in humans. In humans at least, the causes are probably varied and complicated.
And even given that a condition is involuntary, this does not necessarily mean that it is desirable. That's obvious. Ask anybody with PTSD.
Having cleared up those points, you guys can go on with the argument.

Who says God says they are an abomination. According to St Matthew God's son, namely Jesus
-(1) didn't have a girlfriend or get married - ask Jewish mothers they will not allow this to happen.
(2) Jesus instead lived, ate, SLEPT with 12 men for some time
(3) He admitted he was particularly fond of Peter
Now who is against gay people. Jesus was also really angry at the church that made money; he broke the local laws( worked on the Sabbath by harvesting corn) and generally upset the religious leaders of the time. So if you behave how you want to gay or otherwise you are more Christian than those extremist religious men who are terrified the length of their genitals will be threatened by any other sexuality.

As humans, we have a tendancy to anthropomorphosize (humanize) animals. So what is a dominance display for the animal kingdom, we view as a homosexual encounter. Animals don't have the capability to view a dominace display as a lifestyle choice as they don't have "lifestyles." They rely on instincts to determine who they should mate with and who they should dominate.

As God did create gay people, but man wrote the rules, it will always be unfair.

I wouldn't say it's genetic in the hereditary sense so much as gays typically don't pass it down (or even have children for that matter)..

However it IS genetic in that it's a sort of genetic mistake that happens occasionally, where the womb development gets scewed and the boy develops a girl brain and vice versa...

Actually, all sin is passed on from parents and could be said to be genetic. (either that or its learned but doesn't really make a difference it comes from your parents and grandparents...) It all came from the original sin.

I don't think God actually calls gay people abominations... He calls the behavior an abomination yes but not the person...

Maybe animals just chose that lifestyle, you know, tryin something new. duh....nah im playin. it is genetic, animals don't just randomly choose things like that out of nowhere. it has to be genetic....i don't know what god you are talking about though. if it's christanity then it's not God saying that, it's the people who interperate the bible how they see it. but with those christians, they don't follow the bible correctly anyway so their opinions are irrevilant

We are called not to live like animals, by mere instinct or the desires of the flesh, but according to the Spirit. That is why it is written that man was created to rule over all the creatures of the earth! (And homosexuals are not an abomination to God...homosexuality is)

(Animals also rape one another...surely you wouldn't condone this among humans regardless of whether or not some may be born with a "genetic compulsion" to do so)

"Do not practice homosexuality, it is a detestable sin" Animals just get confused, animals are programed genetically to reproduce why would they want to be gay and risk the species! its retarded... What if an endangered animal species was all gay? I guess they would all die all. That might be survival of the fittest (smartest) at work

Through the study of identical twins, we know now for certain that homosexuality has a large genetic factor.
