You could try calling your doctor and ask if you can rinse your eyes in cold or cool water. You can also try a cold compress and Tylenol (if you are sure you have no reactions to it; you didn't mention your age, so I don't know if you are and adult or not. If you are not ask your parent to phone the doctor for suggestions on relieving the discomfort until you can get in).

Once I kept my contacts (hard) in too long, and when I woke up, I couldn't see very well, and my eyes hurt. I was told to take Tylenol, cover my eyes with a cold compress, and relax all day. No activity except meals and bathroom. The same advice was given when I burned my eyes with Superglue fumes (really), while trying to glue something tiny (I don't recall what). I experienced the tearing, and burning for about two days.

Since your eyes are bothering you, I will just remind you to contact your physician for suggestions on temporary relief, and to ask him or her about my suggestions if you aren't certain or comfortable with them.

Hope this helps!

They could be dry from the fan or you could have pinkeye (crusts on the eyelids). You could put saline solution in your eyes or buy some sterile eye drops (ask a pharmacist for help if your not sure).
If it doesn't get any better in a day or two then go to the doctor.

Sounds like the ceiling fan was maybe drying your eye out?

If it hurts when your eye is open, you may have a small scratch or something... Try wearing sunglasses (sounds weird, but it helped my boyfriend)

The fan's electric motor may be producing more than the average amount of ozone, which some people are sensitive to.

The fan must be stirring up particles or smoke in the air.
