His mother's name was Mary, not Tommy.
My mom's name isn't tommy either
hahaha sorry, that was just too funny to pass up.
God creates.

EDIT to add:
sorry, but if someone can figure out how to spell begotten, they can certainly sound out tummy.
I wasn't ridiculing, I was enjoying what I thought was a simple typo. I've had some doozies myself, so, not laughing at, chuckling with. Lighten up!

Life is created when a male and female of the same species have sex, and their egg(s) and sperm unite. It's all scientific, there's nothing divine about it. Life can even be created in a test tube.

**For those of you dissing the asker's grammar, I checked the q&a. English is not this person's first language so let's be nice. There's nothing to be gained by ridicule.

***Terry...if begotten is mispelled, spellcheck will catch it. Tommy IS spelled right, therefore, spellcheck won't catch it, even though it's the wrong word choice. This is an international site, people speak many languages other than English. Simply paying attention to grammar and syntax will clue you in as to whether it's a typo. But really, what does it matter? We all knew exactly what was being asked. Everyday the people here pick on the spelling and grammar of others. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. However, that shouldn't mean we are to be ridiculed for them.

***To the asker, my sincere apologies for the little argument going on at your expense. That was not my intent, and for that I am extremely sorry.

Perhaps the term "virgin" requires a deeper understanding. Seems most here and elsewhere interpret the term to mean penetration exclusively, which only involves the physical. A woman that has not given herself is virgin though she be raped a thousand times over. If you want to know justice, can anything be more just than that principle?

The storyteller told of man, a bastard, undesired, unwanted, and rejected by his own.

Since we know the only entry into this life is by the joining of the male sperm and the female egg then we also know, by virtue of the former, that we cannot enter into this life except they join. Our parents are the only two people capable of producing us. In Jesus' case it appears Mary was the vessel and he, whomever, was the conduit. Mary probably would not have given Jesus' father the time of day. But, it was necessary, for our sakes, that Jesus enter this life that he might leave us the example that he did.

I find that when Jesus is viewed, by me, as a man like me, he is even more compelling. For if a man, such as I am, is not at all a man, but a god, and not just a god but the one GOD. How could I ever hear and agree with him out of love. Fear and trembling is how I agree, not out of love but out of fear. For how can you not fear a man that walks among you that is a GOD?

...ummm... could it be that as it is said "...you are GODs".

I love a great story. And even though the book is closed, the story continues to unfold.

The true physiology of the human body and the process of creating of that fetus requires both sperm from a man and an egg from a woman. So in order for Jesus to be conceived that is required and has never been different at any point throughout history. Mary carried Jesus for the 9 month gestation period, which is normal for the human primate, so there is no indication that her conception was any different than any other conception that has occurred since the beginning of primates inhabiting the planet. Which means that it is highly unlikely that any outside influence occurred, Mary had vaginal intercourse with a human male and she was inseminated during that sexual encounter. In the event that Jesus was conceived in a different way and the fantastical stories of his life, it would be unlikely that Mary would have had to have carried him for the full gestation period of the human primate female.

I don't know of anybody named Tommy (other than an apostle much latter) who had anything to do with the conception of Jesus the Christ in the womb of Mary, His mother. It was done through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Please, read the Bible and learn what a wonderful gift for mankind that was. I suggest starting with the Gospel of John, then go to the beginning.. YBIC

howdy, Jon and Karenita hit the nail on the pinnacle with this one. The Holy Spirit, portion of the Trinity (One God is 3 varieties; the father, Son, and Holy spirit), "created Jesus interior his mom." John.

Apparently Mary had to have been inseminated by something, either it be a spirit or another man.
