I am an LPN! Every so many years, the medical community, according to rumors, starts to weed out LPN's. This is never a trend that last longs. LPN's have more clinical knowledge than RN's and serve a huge purpose on the medical team.
It does depend on what exact field you want to go into. I am a ER nurse. Most LPN's are used more like Tech's in the hospitals. I also worked for a Family Practice for years...I loved it!

I'm a nursing student, working on my RN. One of my professor's (who is a nurse) told me that they are trying to do away with the LPN title, so you would have to go up to RN.
