Sleep in the grave awaiting the resurrection.

The dead are not conscious of anything. - Ecclesiastes 9:5; Psalm 146:4.

Lazarus was asleep according to Jesus, until he resurrected him. - John 11:11-14.

See also Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15; & Revelation 20:13.

ADDED- I just noticed this was to "non-Christians" but I had already responded. My apologies.

I honestly don't know. The Bible isn't very clear on that subject. Jesus talks about a man named Lazarus(not the one raised from the dead) and a rich man who both die. Lazarus, who was a good man, went to a place that is translated "Abraham's bosom". Some interpret that as the name of a place, others that it means by Abraham's side. But either way it is described as a peaceful place. The rich man goes to "Sheol" or hell. "Abraham's bosom", to my knowledge, is not mentioned anywhere else in Scripture, and may be where the Catholic idea of purgatory comes from, because it is not equated with Heaven. You can find this story in Luke chapter 16.
However, the fact that both of these men were Jews and not Christians may be of importance. Paul, the writer of the majority of the New Testament, describes death numerous times as "sleep". In 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 he says that those Christians who "fall asleep" will be raised from the dead at the time of the coming of the Lord, and those Christians who are still alive "will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
The best way I can describe what I think will happen when I die is this, it's like when you fall asleep at night and wake up the next morning feeling like you just laid down, but still very refreshed. Except that when I wake up, I will wake up to meet Jesus. I don't know if this helps at all, but there it is.

Sorry, I thought your question was addressed to all Christians. My bad!

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)

"why did no longer the government (Rome, Jewish management, etc), debunk the myth whilst the evidence first known?" How do you comprehend they did no longer attempt to debunk it? in the journey that your religious delusion is the single "actual" delusion, then why are all the different "fake" religious myths nevertheless flourishing? "does no longer they have produced the physique?" some human beings say a dull physique replaced into resurrected and ascended into Heaven. the fairly physique must be everywhere. might you desire to hunt for it or might you have extra considerable issues to do? "If evidence is so sparkling now, does no longer it have been much extra so then?" definite. "Miracles" are pronounced to take place even immediately. that doesn't recommend they fairly take place. each in specific situations "miracles" are publically debunked, each in specific situations human beings don't be concerned. "Why did non-Christian historians declare the resurrection?" a lot of fake history is written. immediately you need to purchase "history books" that declare the Holocaust under no circumstances occurred. "If Jesus followers knew it replaced right into a lie, why did they take the abuse and death?" Why have religious enthusiasts from all religions via the history of religion taken abuse and death? "this is impossible that the apostles might have continued in putting forward the truths that they had narrated, had no longer Jesus incredibly risen from the lifeless, and had they no longer comprehend this actuality as fairly as they knew the different actuality." incorrect. religious enthusiasts from all religions via the history of religion are continuously putting forward falsehoods. in simple terms through fact human beings say some thing is actual does not make it actual.

My belief is that we will return to the oneness of all that is. We return to the Infinite Creator, as we are all connected and all one in spirit. There is no heaven, hell or other place for anyone unless they choose to create it or punish themselves after death.

The Infinite Creator is beyond our limits and understanding. This makes it hard for people to understand that all are forgiven, loved unconditionally and fully accepted at all times and are always connected to the Creator.

You can see a photo essay of what happens when you die at this link: http://www.deathonline.net/decomposition/decomposition/index.htm

Scary? Not really, you'll be dead. It won't matter, except to the people that will miss you, or the people that have to clean you up. :)

We return to God, reflect on what we've learned, and decide if we want to come back for another 'go-round. I believe we existed with God before this life, and will return there when it's done.
