Jesus had a mother.

Both were "sons" of God (as are angels), though in different fashions.

Adam was created on the sixth day.

Jesus was not created, but begotten before creation, of the same substance as the Father, true God from true God.

We are all sons and daughters of God. He created our spirits. So in effect, Adam is the son of God. Jesus had a mother and a father. Mary was his earthly mother, and God was his father. I don't believe Christ and God are the same person, or made from one substance. They are two separate, distinct personages. Christ referred to God all the time as His Father. He can't be His Father and one in the same at the same time.

Adam, being the first man, is referred to as "The Father of all Living", as Eve is called "The Mother of all Living". They were the first humans on earth. They are the father and mother of all humans. We all come from their line.

Christ, on the other hand, was with God when he created the earth. He helped in that creation. When you see the scripture where Christ says that He and the Father are one, He is meaning one in purpose. They are working to the same end. Christ really is the "Only begotten of the Father". He is the only person who ever lived to be created under divine intervention. He is the only person who can truly say that he is the true Son of God.

You can call Adam Micheal if you want. That was his name before his body was created. He was an angel before he was created, so call him Micheal if it helps you out. He is a Son of God also, in that God created his body and his spirit. He was formed by God, that makes him a son as far as I'm concerned.

Adam was the son of God in the respect that he was created by God, and in Genesis 5: 1 & 2 , it says that Adam was made " in the likeness of God ". He could also be called the son of God in that we who believe are called the "children of God:. ( 1st John 3 : 1-3 ). In Romans 8:16, it talks about ---- " we are God's children". In John 1 : 12 & 13, it talks about us -----" becoming children of God". The word "begotten" in the phrase about Jesus being....." the only begotten son of God" is important, because Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and was born in a Virgin birth, whereas Adam was made with God's hands to be the "son" of God. That verse in Luke 3:38 is the culmination in the discussion of the lineage of Jesus Christ.

The Bible I have states in that Luke passage that Adam was of God. It does not say he was the son of God. In Genesis, the Bible states that God created Adam. That is not the same as the Virgin Birth of Jesus by the Blessed Virgin Mary (the Immaculate Conception) the Bible clearly states the many scenes where Angels visit parties concerned with that miraculous birth event
Don't try reading something into the Bible that doesn't exist or that is clearly explained in various places. It only confuses the poorly read and gives fuel to those who hate religion.
Pray before you study The Bible, for perfect guidance and understanding. That will open your heart to God's love and light.

adam was of God...and Christ was said to be considered being fathered by abraham...

3:23-38 Matthew's list of the forefathers of Jesus showed that Christ was the son of Abraham, in whom all the families of the earth are blessed, and heir to the throne of David; but Luke shows that Jesus was the Seed of the woman that should break the serpent's head, and traces the line up to Adam, beginning with Eli, or Heli, the father, not of Joseph, but of Mary. The seeming differences between the two evangelists in these lists of names have been removed by learned men. But our salvation does not depend upon our being able to solve these difficulties, nor is the Divine authority of the Gospels at all weakened by them. The list of names ends thus, Who was the son of Adam, the son of God; that is, the offspring of God by creation. Christ was both the son of Adam and the Son of God, that he might be a proper Mediator between God and the sons of Adam, and might bring the sons of Adam to be, through him, the sons of God. All flesh, as descended from the first Adam, is as grass, and withers as the flower of the field; but he who partakes of the Holy Spirit of life from the Second Adam, has that eternal happiness, which by the gospel is preached unto us.

Adam was Made, not Borne, therefore he can't be "Begotten". Jesus did have a Father, and a Mother; God The Father was His Father, and Mary was His Mother.

Yes, Jesus is the only-begotten because he was created by God himself; everything and everyone else was created by God AND Jesus. Adam is just a son of God. There are many "sons" of God (example-the angels), but only one only begotten son.

According to Hebrew 3 Jesus is not a servant but a Son (actual God).
Jesus is the last Adam. Adam brought sin into the world and Christ ushered sin out of the world. Due to Christ, man no longer has to be a slave to sin.
Jesus is often referred to as a son of man and often refers to himself as that also. To be human is to be a son of Adam. If you read many of C.S Lewis' works he often refers human as the son's of Adam. Being that Christ came to earth as a human he is a son of Adam (a human).
To understand this a bit more goggle Hyperstatic Union or Kenosis Doctrine, both will give you insight into Christ dual nature 100% man 100% God. This is Orthodox Christian Theology.

Adam was created, we are all the sons and daughter of God, Jesus is different because he is the only begotten son of God, half God and half man.
