how much do people tip hair stylists? say the bill was 100 would you tip 20 or more?

Yeah..that's about right.
For manicures and pedicures, I usually tip about 2-3 bucks each.
If I am getting my hair done (cut or style) the minimum I will tip is 15 bucks. But I guess it depends on how much your bill is.
Mine is usually 70 bucks which includes a shampoo, cut and style. So my tip is 15 bucks. If I have anything extra and the bill goes over $100 than I tip $20. Now if the person does a really lousy job, don't tip well...tip a lot less. They'll get the point!

If the service of anyone who provides a service, whether it be a stylist, pizza delivery person, waiter/waitress or whatever, is good, then I tip 20-25%. If it was average, then I tip 15-20%. If it was horrible, then I tip 10-15% or nothing at all, depending upon the experience. I once tipped the waiter at International House of Pancakes 100% because the restaurant was crowded, they were understaffed and he was running around working his tail off. Additionally, he was trying to find out what my 8 year old daughter wanted to eat and she was grumpy and being extremely difficult. I felt this guy deserved the tip he got and I was happy to give it. Seeing the shock and joy on his face was well worth it for me.

I always tip on the higher end. My stylist always does a beautiful job for me and I leave the shop happy. So at least 20% if not a little more, hey it's worth it to have a stylist who does a great job.

20% is the rule - guess you could get away with 15% ... depends on how much you go and how well they do...I tip 20%
