Went to New Zealand in 2005, want to go again but don't have plane fare, what should I do?

I have friend that stay there and I have been invited, so I have a free place to stay and I'm gonna be taken care of when I get there, so alls I'm worried about is plane fare. On the date that I want to go the fare is only $1006 and I don't have it....
