No, you need the information on the W-2 to file your return correctly.

Update...

If you have not received your W2 yet and you have your year to date information on your last paycheck stub you can file with a Substitute W2 (form 4852) starting after Feb. 15th. But you will need the information on your last paycheck stub or all of the paychecks totaled during the year from the employer.

If you are using the substitute form, you should wait until just before the filing deadline to file your return, according to the IRS. This allows time for the W2 to get to you, as well as time for the information to reach the IRS from Social Security where the government copies are sent.

If you file with the substitute form, processing of your return will be delayed while the IRS tries to verify the information provided on the form. It's always best to do everything in your power to get the W2.

Employers are required to mail your W-2s by January 31. If you don't get it by Feb. 15, you should contact your employer. If you are unable to get in contact with them or if they are uncooperative, contact the IRS. They will help you get the W-2. You can file with a "substitute" W-2 but before you can do that, you have to at least try to contact your employer and the IRS. Good luck.

Only if you know your employer's tax id number and if you know exactly how much state, federal and social security you have paid for the year. Also if you have any kind of retirement that will need to be known as well. Some pay check stubs have this, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Some places only require you to have your last pay stub.
