Russian is quite difficult but not impossible to learn. It is a Slavic language like Polish, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian. The biggest problem in these languages is the conjugation and declension. They have 5 cases: Nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental and prepositional or locative. There are three genders: masculine, feminine and neuter. BUT you can try out the site: http://www.pimsleur.com High quality audio CDs. Visit the site: http://www.russianlessons.net
Good luck and remember that there are much more difficult languages. Don't worry. Yuo're gonna make it!

Yeah, I tried to learn Russian using "Teach Yourself Russian" book and CDs, and I gave up after the second chapter! It was just so hard with the new alphabet, verb conjugations, and noun declensions! Of course, at the time, I was still trying to master German and Spanish, so maybe I just didn't have "room" for a third foreign language. I really don't want to discourage you - if you have the willingness and confidence, you could probably learn Russian just fine!

Not from what I've heard. I speak English, Spanish, French, Italian and German. If you are looking for a foreign language which will help you develop an accent, go with German.

I reccomend that to everyone who wants to learn a language like Russian, Arabic, ect.

It's not that hard. I think it's easier than German, and way much easier than Latin (which is supposedly closer to english and french). It's roughly the same difficulty level of French, IMO.
The alphabet may be different from the Western, but don't worry -- it's not like learning arabic, chinese or japanese script. I managed to memorize it in a couple of days (and I don't consider myself very bright, LOL)
the pronunciation is somewhat like Greek (but vaguely).
the only tough part is that everything has a gender -- even inanimate objects!!
