Floyd Mayweather vs. Sugar Ray Leonard

You know, this fight would be worth a hundred dollars in pay-per-view. Leonard and Mayweather had equal talent, but Leonard had an edge in heart, stamina, and chin. Mayweather had the edge in speed and defense. They were equal in power as their records will attest. Their game were different because Leonard had experienced 15-rounders.
This fight would most likely reach the distance. Both men knew how to defend themselves and I'm sure the first thing on their minds would be not to get knocked out by the other fighter. This fight would most likely take place at either welterweight or junior welterweight. If it takes place at welterweight, I see Leonard taking a unanimous decision. If the bout takes place at junior welterweight, I see Leonard pulling out a split/majority decision. You see, Leonard primed in welterweight, whereas Mayweather primed in junior lightweight. Those two weights are far apart. Thus, it would make a prime-to-prime matchup inconceivable.
Ultimately, if Floyd fought in the 80's I see him making quite a splash, and with his cockiness, would probably call out Hearns, Duran, and, Leonard to a catchweight of 140. So 140 it is. Let's say this is a 12-rounder since no titles will be on the line. I see Floyd taking most of the earlier rounds. The middle rounds are close, but Floyd gets the best of them, too. Now to the championship rounds, this is the portion of the fight where Sugar Ray demonstrates why he is one of the greatest of all time. I see him rallying and sweeping the final rounds. The scorecards will probably read: 115-113,Leonard; 114-113,Leonard; and 114-114. A majority decision win for Leonard. Floyd beats the son-just like he did the father.

Floyd who calls himself "the greatest fighter ever" isn't even in Leonard's league. Food for thought, in this match up Leonard, and it would be obvious when they met at ring center is the much bigger man with equal if not better hand speed and the harder puncher. Ray either KO's Floyd inside of 7 rounds or Mayweather figures out early in the fight that he is in for a beating and totally outclassed, runs the entire fight to avoid getting knocked out.

Sedrrick ~
In my opinion, I'd have to agree with my man Frank D. Could you see Floyd fighting Tommy Hearns in his prime and beating him? How about a Duran? Floyd's biggest victory came against a very beaten up Gatti. Floyd also beat a very over matched Baldomir who also beat up a very beaten up Gatti.

This fight wouldn't go past 9 rounds, Ray wouldn't allow it. Ray fought the way better competition in a area filled with superstar fighters. Lets just write for the sake of argument Floyd beats De La Hoya. So What! Oscar is 6 years out of his prime, but would Floyd move up to fight a young and in his prime Jermaine Taylor? Ray moved up and down and across to fight the very best competition, Floyd hasn't or won't.

Thanks for the question Sedrrick.

Mayweather would get his asswhooped by someone who actually is a "GREAT" unlike himself and then maybe the clown would shut his big mouth after this fight, it is a shame the fight cant be made now i think Sugar Ray would still give this chump a going over now.
