would that be considered "overkill?" (I live in California)

Guess I should expand. Ahem, I found my long lost Army Buddy, who happens to be one of the most sought after tattoo artists in the area now.

It is now LEGAL there. He opened the first shop there a few years back.

I may go in as little as a 2 weeks. But I might put some thought into this and go in April or May. Trip of a life time needs to be well planned. And Zombie, if I din't have a whole sick album of pictures to post, kill me.

Nope, I'd travel far for a tattoo. If I knew of a good tattoo artist in lets say California. I live in CT. I'd definitely go. Tattoos are forever, you can't just go to some random place up the street, and get inked. (I think everyone knows that though) Tattoo fanatics, do stuff like that....so I'd say go for it. :]

Oh and if you go through with, I'd love to see the tattoo.

I guess it depends why youre flying all the way out here- is it because there is a special artist you know of that is going to do one for you? It's not overkill if it something that means a whole lot to you, but I guess it might be considered overkill if it was "just another tat"

BY the way- most people from Mass go up to New Hampshire for tattoos

Well when im form the UK originally and hopefully ill have loyal customers on either side of the atlantic wherever i decide to settle finally. Getting tattooed by someone who makes you comfortable and gives you the best experience is moe important than the miles. and certainly the fact that you're old friends who havent seen eachother in a while, its a good chance to catch up.

And Somebody - if i was going to Cali i would totally go to Nikko too, he has some amazing work.

HELL YEAH, I would do it, too. You will kill two birds with one stone. Just one suggestion, I would get a different tattoo instead of getting the heart filled in, once an artist starts a piece, I always have that same artist finish it. Have him draw something up for you, and do that one!!

Come on over! How awesome. I was so glad when Mass legalized tattoos. Now I don't have to drive all the way to New Hampshire. lol I hope his shop does well.

I would say go. I live in mass and have gotten all but 2 of my tattoos in the state. I think it will be a great way to catch up with your buddy. Massachussetts welcomes you!!!

Pricey tattoo I would say. Don't you guys have tattoo parlors in Cali ?

K Eric: Tattoos parlors have been legal in MA for a couple of years now. People used to go to NH or RI/CT to get them but it's legalized here.

No way is that over kill, like everyone else said, two birds with one stone. You love your ink and I think the trip will be well worth it.

Post pictures later!

Great thing about this Country of ours is that you can do just about anything that you want to as long as it's legal. If you want to go to Mass for a Tattoo then do so. I would fight to the death for your right to.
Have fun.
