What is your favorite brand, do you add anything to it?

Oh sure. All the time. I make just about everything from scratch, except spaghetti sauce.

I like any type of Paul Newman's brand sauce. It isn't much more expensive than the generic brands, and part of the $$ goes to charity.
If you can't find it, Prego is always a good cheap standby.
I add sliced fresh mushrooms, ground chuck, extra garlic powder, and about 1 cup of wine.

I actually always use Hunt's - it's the cheapest, but I think it has the best flavor.

Or, what's more fun is to take a jar of tomato sauce, mix in a jar of tomato paste, and then add your own seasonings. I have a Greek seasoning that I use a lot, and Mrs. Dash has some good ones too. Experiment! There's no such thing as bad spaghetti sauce :)

Why not make it from scratch in a crock pot, I do it all the time so that when I come home from work all that I have to do is add the mushrooms and tomato paste and cook the pasta.
Spaghetti Sauce:
2 cans of whole tomatoes, or 1 large can
2 small cans of tomatoe sauce
chopped onion
chopped garlic
Italian seasoning
salt @ pepper
1 package of sweet Italian sausage links, some people like the hot ones, we like the sweet ones
oregano
Add all of the above ingredients to the crock pot, turn crock pot on high. If you cook on top of the stove you will have to turn the heat down and stir regularly.
Cook for at least 6 hours
Wash mushrooms and add to pot, cook for 30 minutes
Add 1 can of tomato paste to thicker, cook for 10-20 minutes
Actually you can add the paste and mushrooms at the same time.
Start the water to boil for your pasta
cook pasta and serve. I rinse my pasta with cool water after it cooks to remove the starch and it keeps it from sticking together.
Serve with garlic bread and Caesar salad

I like Prego because it's thicker than Ragu. I usually buy any flavor they have (except the one with meat) and add any number of things to make it more flavorable--onion, bell pepper, mushroom, garlic, etc. Or, sometimes I add nothing at all.

As for the fancy ones that cost three times as much as Prego/Ragu, I haven't tried any of them. I figure if I wanted gourmet spaghetti sauce, I'd make it myself! I use the stuff from the jar because it's fast, cheap and good.

Yes I usually get the Ragu either meaty flavor or Chunky style with garlic. Then I chop an onion, and some fresh garlic. I season with basil parsley salt & pepper and then simmer for about 15-20 minutes to let the flavors marry.
If I had more time I would make fresh spagetti sauce. It sounds great!

I like Hunts Roasted Garlic and Onion. Sometimes I use it just the way it is. It's very easy to add any spices you like or ground meat if you want a meat sauce. I always add Parmesan cheese.

One of my favorite sauces is also one of the cheapest. Hunt's Roasted Garlic spaghetti sauce. Very garlicky. I also add ground beef, onions, and more garlic. No vampires trailing me:)

Bertolli. I sometimes add a splash or two of red wine. I cook Italian sausage, slice it and put it in the sauce.

That's all I use...so I guess I think they're pretty good. I like the Paul Newman's sauces, and mostly any kind except Ragu.

I use Prego all the time. My favorite is the mushroom one, I then add sausage, onions & peppers.
