As far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as friendly fire. Having been a receiver of so called "friendly fire" it is usually caused by someone forgetting to call off a fire mission, a short round, confused information, or the wrong grid co-ordinates. It's a damned shame but it happens in war , been there-seen that!!!

Why do you act like Americans have killed British Soldiers in friendly fire incidents all the time.

There have been just TWO American on British friendly fire incidents in Iraq, both over 3 years ago.

In one, the friend or foe identifier in a British Tornado jet wasn't working and the jet was shot down by a Patriot Missile battery.

In the second, it was the incident where the video( a video that the British MOD has had for the last 3 years) was just released.

Whats justice ?

Do you demand that the British Soldiers involved in the two British on British friendly fire incidents be brought to justice ?

There have been no prosecutions of any of the friendly fire incidents, whether they were American on British or british on British.

Yes we would.

IMO - all of the fuss being raised over the incident is a smokescreen to prevent people from asking: "Why did the British forces tell the American pilot that no friendlies were in the area?"

The killing of friendly forces is a terrible thing, but it does happen. No one is perfect. Just who is to blame is hard to put a finger on. Was it the ones who did the attack or the commanders or the people in intelligence who told them there were no friendly forces around. All we can do is change things so it doesnt happen again. God Bless them and their families.
