4.5 - 6.5 MPH is jogging, you can speed walk up to 5, but unless you are an experienced speed walker you will soon be jogging.

There is not set standard MPH for a jog to fit everyone. We all have varying height and our pace differs due to our step. A faster pace for you may be a slow jog for a person who is taller. The concept of running is to determine what your goal is. Therefore, the main idea is to determine your heart rate level you want to reach. Then that'll be your pace.

Back in the day, anything slower than 7 minutes per mile was considered jogging.

It's different for everyone depending on fitness level. For me personally, a jog is between 4.5 (very light jog!) to 5.5.
