So there is this girl who I met the other night, through a friend. We went to the movies, dinner, etc. The real first date is this Sunday. I've been texting this girl since the other night, and she doesnt seem that interested, even though her friends say she's really excited.

Why is it that people can't be honest or upfront about their intentions? And when you are, you scare someone off?

She may just be shy or like me with no text capabilities in her phone. Think of how she was acting when you first went out. I you think that she was feeling you then, you might be alright it could be your nerves. If her friends are telling you that she is into then go for it. Then when you go out on Sunday just ask her how she feels about the whole thing.

ok so here is what i can gather from what you have said... i think this girl is intersted but we like to not show how interested we really are sometimes because we dont want to get hurt... she may have been hurt in the past and wants to know how you feel before she starts to show her feelings more... also it could be that you two still dont know eachother very well... and as to your question about intentions... i am not sure why we as a whole has gotten away from stating our true intentions... i do believe that the deline in the stating of true intentions started in the male gender... it was always supposed to be men stating their intentions to the women and the girls parents... and we have moved away from that... in our society very few men hold doors or help us out of cars or into cars or even kiss our hand... another thing that i believe led to this was that very few men when preparing to ask a woman to marry them ask her father for her hand in marriage... it used to be the norm that all men asked the father... and lastly we are scared off by it because it seems foriegn to us because it is so rare anymore... hope i was helpful...
