Try a Chianti. They generally run around what you're looking to spend. They are dry and fruity. They go well with meats and Italian foods.

Does he deliver at the same time wine? Does he age it? My boss loves wine and what I somewhat have discovered works suitable is to purchase him something he does not drink. He loves French and Califormia wines so each and every 365 days i purchase a bottle of something that would desire to be new and exciting to him. If he enjoys Petit Syrahs then he could additionally take excitement in a Tempranillo from Spain. i think of giving wine fanatics something they don't seem to be looking forward to yet will take excitement in is the entire factor of experiencing wine.

Several good ones to try if you can find them in your area are Tenuta le Querce "Il Viola". The grape is Aglianico. La Pieve Chianti classico is very good. Icardi Barbera is a nice food friendly red. For a white try Villa Rosa Gavi.

Try a Primitivo. it's an Italian red made with the Zinfandel grape, however it's much lighter than the huge red Zinfandels from California. Mostly you won't find a Primitivo for over $18 here, probably less where you are. Our liquor prices are high.
