How long would it take, on an average weekday, to get from White Plains, NY to the Grand Central terminal station in New York City?? Or, where would I be able to find that information? I just got a job in Manhattan and I'm thinking of moving to White Plains, but I don't want to keep my car. Thanks!

Someone just asked the same question this morning. See if this answer helps you
White Plains isn't far; the Metro North Train goes from Grand Central Station to White Plains - depending on the train and the hour, the ride can be as little as 31 minutes or as long as 50 minutes. Tickets can be bought from the conductor on the train, they are a little bit less, if you get the ticket at the station, and even less if you purchase the ticket on line. In addition, there are weekly and monthly tickets:

Depends, there are some upscale neighborhoods in Brooklyn like Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Manhattan Beach, and there are upscale neighborhoods in White Plains. Nonetheless, Brooklyn's image is more seedy. For less wealthy pick Carnasie in Booklyn.

Try the Amtrak service.
