The original form of Hitler was Hiedler. The name was variously spelled Hiedler, Huetler, Huettler and Hitler and probably changed to "Hitler" by a clerk. You can verify that by going to Wikipedia.
Another interesting tidbit If you have been searching under the surname Hitler, you might want to also try Schiklgruber. That was his fathers surname before he went by Hitler at age 39.

A quick search reveals that Hiedler is a name still in use today.

His call replaced into Adolf Hitler. Adolf replaced into his first call, an difficulty-free German call on the time (A German American relative of mine used to assert Hitler's dad and mom ruined a perfectly solid German call via naming their youngster "Adolf") His father have been illegitimate and until he replaced into an person, replaced into Alois Schicklegruber (i'm uncertain of the spelling). He found out his organic and organic father's final call would have been something like "Hiedler" and adjusted his call to "Hitler" in the previous his son replaced into born. Alois Hitler replaced into in his 50's, i think whilst Adolf replaced into born. throughout the warfare, Hitler replaced into specially instances spoke of as "Schicklegruber" as an insult, by using fact human beings theory it sounded Jewish.
