If you're having all 3 out at the same time and they're impacted, you may not feel up to going to the game the next day. The extractions themselves, though, will be fine. You'll be well numbed up. They might even put you "out." So, don't worry. Just play it by ear and keep your options open for tomorrow.

I'm 16 and I had mine removed over a year ago. The surgery won't bother you at all, it'll just fell as though the dentist has his foot against your mouth. I'd forget about the game, you'll be out of action for about 3 days. You'll start to swell about 20 minutes after the surgery, then... unfortunately... the pain kicks in. Just be sure that you eat a big meal before the surgery, because that's all you'll be able to eat that day. Good Luck, and I'll be with you in spirit. You'll be fine.

It's not the end of the world. I got two of mine out at about 16, along with two of my 12-year-molars on the top (so that the wisdom teeth could grow in). I was a bit swollen, but not very sore. The annoying part was washing out my mouth and the cuts inside my mouth. But it wasn't traumatic or very painful... just annoying. I wasn't on bedrest for long than 12 hours, or so. The anesthesia was hard to shake... I was groggy for a while. You might throw up when you wake up, due to swallowing some blood and the anesthesia. But, all things considered, it wasn't very bad. Don't be nervous. You'll be okay.

I didn't get mine out until they started bothering me a bit. My dentist said not to worry about it, some people never have to have then removed. I ended up having one done and the other 3 about 2 years later. They put me under for the 3. The weirdest think, but very important, is to keep the wounds flushed with water until they heal enough to handle a bushing in the area. It was more of a hassle than pain, bu then they gave me some good drugs for that.

Good luck.

1. get sedated. trust me.
2. don't even THINK about playing basketball the next day. They'll probably give you vicoden for the pain. Stock up on movies. You'll be on your butt for a while.
3. Don't eat Doritos- it hurts.

Somehow, I ended up with 6 wisdom teeth. I don't know how, though I have my suspicions. I was on my feet by the end of the day, but I slept quite a bit afterwards. Stock up on ice cream (you won't even taste the blood), and try to keep it as comfortable as possible.

Good luck!

I'm 18 years old and I am getting them taken out in a week or two. Like you I am terrified but life goes on. I really don't think you will be am to play your game tomorrow though. Usually it takes at least a few days to recover. Good luck!

I kinda doubt you'll want to go to the game the next day. I had all four of mine taken out, and I was so drugged up I don't really remember the week after. Two weeks after, I went back to college and one cheek puffed up for a few days and then the other cheek puffed up for a few days, it didn't hurt I just looked ridiculous! I thought they did a really good job of drugging me so I didn't feel a thing, and when I was out I was out! I don't think it's anything to be scared of, it's just going to be an awkward time for you for a while.

Ouch!
Do yourself a favor.. have the dentist write u a prescription for the pain killer before you get started, and have your parents fill it immediately. Take the pill the moment you leave the dentist's office as it will take a while to kick in and you want it working before the Novocaine wears off.

U should be able to play the next day, assuming you have no stitches and aren't in any pain.

Stock up on Milkshakes and Carnation instant breakfast!

I got mine out about a year or so ago.I had all 4 but I didn't find it that bad.I was up and around and just fine afterwards.I had a little trouble eating but that was all.I wouldn't advise going to a game the next day though.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled and went back to work the same day after my gums stopped bleeding. I have a high tolerance for pain though.
