Allah was the moon god of the arabs. Yes, this surprises many, even the muslims, but this is history. Allah is NOT the supreme being, but was originally the moon god.
Muhammad did not have the access to the actual Bible, but to some gnostic stories and catholic myths (this fits seeing as to how he was briefed by pope on what needed to be done). I've studied the gnostic gospels (the secret gospels, the gospel of mary, and the gospel of thomas), and they are what Muhammad repeats, nothing from the Bible.
He also criticizes the fake trinity - Father, Jesus and Mary. When did mary become divine? This is another proof that muhammad was getting this nonsense from the gnostics, and another proof that the quran is neither inspired, nor factual.
Please muslims, listen to this and research this yourself. The isa mentioned in the koran is NOT Jesus from the history or the Bible. Allah is the moon god from arabic and mystery religions, and not The Father. Now the word allah has been adopted as god in the language, but this is not the origin.
And those of you claiming that the Bible isn't authentic. Listen up, I was an atheist with some pretty fancy arguments, before the Lord saved me by destroying my pride. Stop spewing out prideful nonsense (I've done enough of that in my past), and start doing some actual research. The Bible is the most factually and historically backed book of antiquity. In fact, it has been archeologically proved more times than any other work of antiquity. There are atleast 9 extra-biblical sources that confirm the resurrection and the early church growth mentioned in the Bible. And not only that, but to date, there is not a single hypothesis or theory to explain the resurrection of Jesus. If you don't believe in Jesus, who is most historically backed of any figure of antiquity (including muhammad), then you might as well believe that you dropped from the sky, because you wouldn't believe in your great-grandparents either.

Mohammed lived in a time when these stories were told around the campfire as oral tradition. This is where he learned the stories. It is evident that this is true when one reads the Q'uran and sees the discrepancies and incorrect interpretations of the Old Testament stories. This is why Muslims stick to the "archangel Gabriel" told him story.
And it was 600 years after Jesus that Mohammed dictated the Q'uran.

Well he was born way after Jesus. Therefore he would have known about those stories especially since the bible and whatnot was being spread around.

because the same one who has revered the Torah and the Bible is the same one who revealed the Quran to Muhammad. Muhammad does not speak by his own, but with an aspiration from his God.
Muhammad can't read or write, no way he could read the Torah or Bible or come up with the Quran. Quran is the word of God, Hadith is the word of Muhammad. if you compare the two of them, you will see alot of differences.

It all goes back to Abraham who had too sons ... Ishmael by his wife's handmaid and Isaac by his wife Sarah. These two were the beginning of lines that would produce Jesus and Muhammad. The family dispute that came from this caused the friction that exist today. Also, Sarah was Abraham's wife and half sister. They both worship the same God. ~

Although he was probably raised with pagan religion as a small child, he later joined an "Abrahamic" religion. The members were not Jews or Christians, but were monotheists who passed down a good deal of their stories and traditions. He also knew some Jews and perhaps Christians.

In have been researching this, or trying to. What I have been able to figure out is that Mohammed probably never saw a Bible. He was friendly at one point with the Jews of Medina, before he ordered them killed, and I have found a hadith where he referred to the Torah for advice! What he did know about the NT he learned from a Christian concubine (who was probably a heretical one). I am still researching. I have yet to find more hadiths confirming these facts beyond doubt.

There was a sustantial Jewish community in Arabia at that time, and we know that Muhammad had both positive and negative interaction with it. Part of it may have included hearing Bible stories, esp. since many of the Quranic versions of those stories reflect rabbinic versions.

We do not know that what happened in the bible are facts! A lot of the stuff in the bible is taken from the Mystery religions and adapted to Christianity. 1400 years? Nope. It wasn't.
