Need to know what I need to do to a DVD-R disc burned on my computer so it will play on a DVD player.?

I recorded video on using my DVD recorder. I burned it to a DVD-R using my computer. IS there soemthing that needs to be done so the DVD-R will play on a regular DVD player?

is depends on what format your dvd recorder is set to record in. also your dvd player might not support dvd-r and you might should try dvd+r

It should play just fine, unless the DVD-R was and is defective.
Does it play on the computer?
Also, how old a DVD player do you have? Real old ones (more than 8 years old) may have problems.
