It's possible that you are using integrated video with not enough RAM allocated to it to support those games...it is not necessarily Intel graphics. If you open Device Manager (right click My Computer and then Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager button) and then click the "+" next to Display Adapters, you can see the make/model of your video card.

go to control panel, then system, then device manager, you should find your graphics card there. Just because your computer has an intel processor that doesn't mean the graphics card is intel, as most computers come with intel processors anyway. Do what i said and you should find out, you shouldn't really have to install any extra software but you can get the latest driver by going to the company that made the graphics card's website and searching for a driver there, or just searching on google. Hope that helped :)

if trying to run 3D games, you'll need a video card that has a 3D chipset on it. most all new cards are 3D. don't worry about the onboard, get a agp, pci graphics card. if your chip set is intel, then when you did the windows update, it would have download the updated drivers for it. to get your video info and more system info, don't use the first answer methond because it is incomplete. goto the start menu and select run. now type in dxdiag and hit enter. this tells your whole system and more.
