I am going to be redoing my bathroom and want to replace the inserts for the walls above the tub. Is it better to get the full wrap around piece or three separate pieces that you have to use cauking to seal together?

If you want to redo your bathroom and add value to your home, why don't you go for tile.
Tile makes a bathroom look so much nicer.
There are many tile designs that can add that spa feeling to your bathroom. And if you are worried about the cost of tile there are many manufactures that can sell you the tiles real cheap especially if those pieces/color are discontinued. You can go to your local hardware store and do a clinic on putting tile in your bathroom.

Wraparounds almost never fit flush to the wall. This allows water, mold and rot to build behind the wall. I would rather use three separate pieces, get a good, water tight seal and caulk then take my chances with a bad seal. Once mold gets going behind the walls, it may require removing the whole surrounds and replacing.

I'd go with wrap around-the less seams the better-and I think it has a cleaner look in the long term-I put up a 3 piece-it was a pain to install and I used caulk at the seams which is now discoloring

It would be easier to get 3 separate pieces. It's just easier to handle 3 smaller panels rather than 1 large awkward panel.
