and make me feel sick. In fact why would any 'nice' smell have this effect?

This is a very interesting question. There is concern in some quarters about fragrance products and some perfumes used in the home because the use of the chemicals in the products is not very well controlled. Many of these products are artificially derived and bear only a passing resemblance to the real thing, and they are overwhelmingly strong. It is hardly surprising that you are getting headaches. I think the worst culprits are the room fresheners that give a regularly timed puff, such that one is constantly bombarded by the stuff. I use Neutradol as required, and as it is made from all natural products I have no qualms about using it.

Many people are sensitive to strong smells and I'm sure it's mostly because they are chemicals. Try for a more natural smell. I have some chamomile tea that makes the whole room smell great so I often just put some in a pot on a simmer. Natural potpourri!

Its either a chemical sensitivty or a particular scent. Im thinking chemical sensitivity. Im not crazy abot the things either. If you're getting a headache its your body trying to tell you something--I dont like this!!

They stink. Get yourself some incense or a nice scented candle instead. Diptique are the best (but expensive).
