The oldest cat I have ever known of lived to be 22 years old. On average most spayed/neutered cats live to about 17-19 years old. The better the care given to them the longer and happier lives they'll have.

I had a female Persian, very tiny, only 3 1/2 lbs, who lived to be 25 years and 1 month old. She finally had to be put down after a stroke. Until that point, she was going strong, doing her daily run through the house, chasing my 2 other cats if they got in her space. I fed her Starkist water pack tuna every day, along with Iams crunchy food for older cats. She was a jewel!!

I also had 2 males, domestics, who lived outside and they lived to be 19 and 22. Maybe I'm just lucky...

It just depends. We have had cats that died of old age at 9 and others at around 18. What makes the difference is the health and care level of the cats. If they go into the vet for their annual examinations and shots and are also on heartguard and flea preventer cats can live up to 20. Also if they get any diseases like cancer. Our cat that died at 9 had not had a recent shot for feline lukemia and died of it. It just depends on how well the cat is taken care of.

I have a cat that is between 15-17 years old, he is really slowing down. He's got maybe another year in him. I'd say no more than 20 years!

Outdoor cats live an average of 5 years. Indoor cats can live up to twenty, but not usually longer than that. I hope both of your cats live long and prosperous.

I had a cat that lived to be 22... unfortunately I had to have her put to sleep a couple years ago, but at the time she was my elder, a healthy cat can live a long time!

It depends on how you take care of them. I have a cat that is 15 years old, and I think she has a few more years in her. My cat lives with me on my ranch and she is as big as a school desk. I think that if you take care of your cats, and if you keep them inside, then they'll have a long life.
