Should the Anglican Communion expel the US Episcopalians?

Question

Worldwide, the majority of Anglicans are outraged that their American affiliate, the Episcopal Church USA, accepts out-of-the-closet gays, and that some gays have become priests and at least one bishop. Should the American church continue to be true to its own convictions, and accept being expelled?

Or should it accept the right of the majority of the world's Anglicans to set the rules, and agree to conform to them? This would mean returning to the old status of excluding gays. On the other hand, if the American church is seen as being in the lead in moving the church forward toward a needed reform, should the US just try to bear the heat and lie low until the rest of the world catches up?

Unlike the Roman Catholic Church, which is seriously wracked by clergy scandals, the Anglicans maintain very high standards of behavior, and it is very rare for any US Episcopalian priest whether gay or straight to be involved in any kind of misconduct.

How can this situation be resolved?

If anything, TEC should leave the AC - not the other way around.

If the Communion is going to be held hostage by a bigoted Nigerian bishop and a handful backward looking American conservatives, TEC would be much better off as a separate entity.

The Anglican Church should back off. The "high standards" they set will find them wanting on a closer look. If there is a choice to "expel" the American Church, it will mean a lot of holier-than-thou, self-righteous fools will be acting likw what they are.

Sorry' But you are Judging a Country by the way some people are. but that is freedom of choice not the Country leading them. Some people have their own ways and believe the way they want..

I am not for the gays. even if I know a few of them. they are not really bad people. it is just they have their own bad ways. But I do not worry about them. because they will be Judged for what they do, that is why God wants freedom. so people will show how they really act and feel about things. the same as you do. but God Built this world to judge us, and he will know which should be in Heaven and which will not. so you see, I do not worry, because I am not the Judge. God, is the Judge. that is his Job. not mine. but they will pay the price for what they do.

So your answer is. God, will resolve this problem in his own way and time. or he may not want too, maybe there is another reason behind all of this, that we do not see. but maybe in time we can tell.

Midge is a flake, who seems to think that the gang of pederasts otherwise known as the Catholic Church holds the moral high ground in this situation.

Meanwhile the African bishops also seem to believe in polygamy. Gosh, I guess no side in this debate is pure.

If they do, they will be rejecting the teaching and practices of Jesus, Himself. Jesus welcomed all people and treated them kindly and with respect. What we have, here, are people rejecting other people. God is the judge. People are to spread the Gospel. By judging others, they have made themselves mini-gods. This does not mean that God is doing the rejecting. Perhaps, to some, it is more important to be an Anglican than a true follower of Jesus.

Just exactly how it is being played out. The gays and all the garbage theology is being rounded up into their own coven and the real Christians are rallying behind the Pope again to become a communion of Saints.

they do no longer could desire to do something, they're being booted OUT! And unquestionably that it is not a remember of accepting women human beings and gays they're time-honored regardless. The question is could desire to energetic gays be clergy, and could we sanctify same intercourse marriages.
