In every war fought, by any country that went to war, there have always been friendly fire cases. More Americans died during the Civil War than any other war we have ever been involved in. The future wars will be no different. We should learn from our mistakes and move on, but never forget the price our military has paid for us.

I don't think you'll ever get an exact answer...they certainly didn't keep those types of records back to the Revolutionary War. Do you have a more specific time frame?
