I know the standard first date is a movie, but you really don't get to talk to the girl. What would you suggest? Answers from other teens would be best.

Aww, this is nice. A teenage boy who cares enough to actually think about what kind of date to take the girl on...very nice :-)

Don't laugh, but if you both hang out with the same people, it's fun to go on group dates...especially for a first date. It relieves the pressure of always having to have something cool to say when there is other people around.

Do something fun, like go bowling or to a zoo, or go-kart racing.

You're right about the movie thing..it's not the best choice for a first date. Dinner and a walk through a park are always good opportunities to talk and get to know eachother.

Have fun!

An amusement park!

My first date was at Carowinds. And i'll never forget it.

For one, you get to see what she likes. If she hates rides, then she's probably not too spontaneous. If she loves them, then you may just have a winner. Surprisingly, amusement parks say a lot about a person.

Since it may be cold in your state, try going bowling or skating. You get to communicate, joke, and enjoy the recreation.

And take her somewhere to eat if you want to as well. Not someplace where she has to get all dolled up. Somewhere not too cheap but not too expensive for your wallet either. Like Olive Garden or Red Lobster, or even Applebees. It is just a first date.

Hope this helped. And wish ya the best!

going for a movie and a nice loooong walk!
that way you get to know what kind of things shes into because if she sees somthing she likes in the movie then she'll say somthing bout it and while you're walking round you can chat about whatever you want... maybe have some ice cream and stuff... just try to have fun! a first date as a teen shouldnt be too serious!

Well i believe a cool bar with jazz or old rock music but not too loud would be cool if you go out at night. Other than that you could go for a coffee in a nice place and then just suggest her to do something you have planned in your mind from before. For instance if you know there is a concert there or a theatre you could just ask her to go after the coffee. It may seem as a coincidence to her but you could have planned it all along;)

I'm 15, and a first date besides going to the movies.. hmm it depends on where you live and of corse your age, how about the drive in movies? there you can talk and watch the movies.. or maybe just go to the mall and walk around. Or maybe bowling, or ice skating, or roller blading, or just go out to eat somewhere casual at some diner in your area.

ice skating is really good, that's where i met my first real boyfriend. we went to a pool hall for one of our first dates. that's good if you have one close that is teen-friendly. i also suggest fishing, extreme bowling, and laser tag.

oh yeah, i want to add, on a first date, always let her know when you ask (or in advance) that you will be paying. i used to worry all the time about that. even though it's so easy to just wait and see what he does, it's still nerve-racking ahead of time.

My very first date was a movie. But Ive always liked that first dates with guys who like to do different things. I had dates like rock climbing, playing putt-putt golf, art exhibit, live band (nothing loud or just a type of genre of music we BOTH like)
Just be creative sweetie & have fun.

try a carnival or something like that. you can have fun on rides and talk in between them. if you choose to goto a carnival... go on the farris wheel, one of the most romantic places to talk is at the top of the wheel at night, looking out at the city lights or the night sky.

good luck
