i have my hair cut with a razor blade, it gives it pointy ends and takes some of the weight out of it, word of warning though every 3rd cut get it done with scizzors so it doesnt thin it 2 much and split the ends. thats what my hairdresser told me.

Cutting your hair with a razor does not give you split ends. The hair my appear to look a little "rough" on the ends because the razor takes off the ends at an angle which makes the ends of the hair its self thinner. When you get your hair cut with a razor you have to style it. It is for very textured cuts. Any reason it did not look good would be that the stylist did not know how to use it. The razor is a hard tool to use that takes practice.

My mother is a cosmetologist(and former cos instructor) and I am going to cosmetology school, accourding to my mother it does cause damage but I forgot what she said and other hairdressers have told me the same thing. It's something about it splits your ends open or something, I havent leadned all about razor cutting yet but it isnt the best for your hair that much I know.

A hair dresser butcherd my long hair with a razor before. It looked so bad! I didn't asked for a razor cut either and would never in a million years ask for it to be done.I had to have my long hair cut off.

If this includes shaving my head I do it every morning. No problem here. BUT WHY, would a beauty salon use a razor instead of shears?
