If he dribbles a bit, dabbing the TP on after he goes, then flushing it down, may work until he gets the hang of going potty like a big guy, but you may want to consider teaching him the tapping after he goes that most men do.
I'd hate to see him do this in school and have his schoolmates give him a hard time for it.

NO, when a boy or man urinates a few droplets of urine remain on the penis. However, if the boy is holding right that is a few fingures around the middle no urine has gotten on his hands. When done he needs to give his penis a gentle shake or two and the drops will fall into the toilet. No need for toilet paper unless it is a major leak.

A good idea might be to ask his parents what they would like him to do upon his urination. They may agree with you or have another idea. If he isn't hitting the target there is nothing wrong with helping him understand what he is doing and he may appreciate your help. Sounds like you care very much about your nephew and what and how you teach him! That is nice and if you do it in a caring manner he will know you care. Kids may be confussed about what they should do and may be embarressed to ask. Don't forget to tell him the importance of washing his hands when he is done, putting down the toilet seat, and leaving the bathoom neat for the next person. Your help will show him you care and help him to realize things he may not have considered. Best Wishes. kmj

when my son was toilet training, i was a single mom, so i had him use toilet paper to dab. then when he was at my dad's house for the day, my dad saw him do this and was shocked! he told me i couldn't make him do that because kids would make fun of him, so he stopped doing it. i would LOVE to know men wipe it rather than shake it. shaking doesn't get it all off, and when it comes time for certain types of intamacy, well yuck! lol

most boys and men do not wipe or dry after peeing, they shake it a couple of times to get the drops of urine off. but i do think it would be more sanitary for men to wipe it off!! if he goes to school and talks about it or does it in front of his friends or any other boys he will probably be made fun of. i would have him stop this and do what other males do, shake it!!

A rule of thumb that I recommend is that you don't have a penis, you have no business telling someone else what they should or shouldn't do with theirs.

If he is uncircumcised yes it's probably a good idea. If not, maybe the guy of the house should show him what he needs to do.

No, it is a little strange. My brother's pre-school friend used to do it and got in the habit. When he used the bathrooms at school (elementry) he did the same thing and people made fun of him!
