you're eating almost 800 (approximations:100g=525c. 150g= 790c.) calories or so of nuts per day. That's a lot for only one type of food.

Nuts are VERY healthy and they help your body and mind in a thousand different ways, but considering the average person's D.C.I. is about 2000 calories, you're consuming a third just by eating nuts.

The problem with this is mainly that you may be consuming too many extra calories and thus will gain weight.

You should try to cut down to about half of what you're eating (at least). It would be great if you could just eat an ounce or two. Try eating mindfully, I get the feeling you're not really paying attention to what you're eating. There's more to cashews or pistachios or whatever than just their texture, pay attention to each nut you put in your mouth. Taste it, feel it- enjoy it. You'll likely be a lot more satisfied.

Also, eventually you'll get sick of them, so why not prolong the experience by saving your ounce or two of nuts to eat at a certain time every day? That way, you'll have something to look forward to.

Nuts are full of fat, but it's good fat. Your body needs a certain amount of fat per day and fat from nuts would be much better than fat from margarine.

They are full of calories too though.

If you eat loads of them, you will gain in weight, but a few every day will do more good than harm. It depends on how many you are eating and what else you are eating.

If you are active and not overweight, then carry on enjoying the nuts! Make sure you eat other good stuff too though. You need protein and complex carbs in your diet; the latter especially if you are active.

Well, like anything else, an excess can be bad, but I don't think that 100g of nuts daily is going to get you into trouble. Do keep in mind that nuts are high in protein, fat, and have a surprising amount of calories, but they're better, healthwise, than many other snacks you could be eating.

They can be bad for you. Nuts are very high in fat and 100g of cashews a day is about 50/60g of fat (around the recommended daily allowance for women). The good news is the fats aren't like saturated fats so your body uses them differently, but you can still put on weight with them. Also some nuts have a high salt content which isn't good for. They do however contain plenty of essential nutrients that do more good than harm but I wouldn't eat more than a 30g handful a day.

No nuts are the best snack your body could ask for. They lower the bad cholesterol and raise the good cholesterol. As long as you are not eating over 1 cup a day you are good to go. They are fattening, so moderation is the key here.

nuts are generally good for you but like someone said they do contain fat and although it is the kind of fat your body requires to keep you warm and that, it could still get stored in your body and make you gain weight coz this kind of fat is produced naturally in the body so you don't need as much. however if you must snack, it better to snack on nuts than crisps and chocolate. but you might want to reduce the quantity. what you could do is mix it with seeds say pumkin, sunflower or flaxseed so you still get a taste of the nuts but you don't consume as much

well these days over indulgence in anything is "bad for you". Sounds like it's not too bad but pistachios can be a bit on the naturally salty side, you may want to cut down just to lower your salt intake. Like I said though "the media" even says now that too much exercise, sleep, water, is bad for you so you really can't win anyway. Do whatever makes you happy unless your doctor tells you that your choloestrol is bad.

Some nuts can be "okay" for you, but things like peanuts are high in fat and i'd recommend not snacking on too many of them as often, as nuts arent the healthiest thing to snack on with all due respect. :)

you are eating more servings of nuts then you need for your body, they are good for you because they supply you with healthy fats, but too much of a good thing isn't good either. You may want to try and cut it back just a little, for your own sake.

almonds are the best nut for you. as long as they're not sweetened or chemicals added you should be okay. They don't have trans fats, and nuts can raise your good cholesterol levels. Aslong as your doc says it's good then you have nothing to worry about.
