I am 29 years old and I finally want to do something about my teeth, they are not horrible but they need straightening, can anyone tell me if I should consider invisalign? Or is the traditional metal better? Also will my insurance cover the cost? (Naturally I know I would have to look at my plan and call them, I meant in general is this something that insurance companies support) And finally roughly what will it cost me?

I got my braces when I was 20. I just went with the traditional metal. It wasn't painful at all for me. Mine teeth weren't horrible either but I just wanted them fixed really bad. I didn't even have to have the braces on for a whole year! ... I wasn't able to get it covered under insurance just cause my insurance got cut off because I wasn't in school full time. Every insurance is different but I believe most of them cut off major dental coverage like that at 21. As far as cost, I think mine cost somewhere around a few grand. Pretty steep, so I would recommend shopping around.

Orthodontists consider invisalign on a case by case basis. You would need to see an orthodontists first to determine whats best for your teeth. Most offer free consultations if you wanted to get a second or third opinion. As far as insurance coverage, most insurance companies do not cover braces after a certain age which is usually between 18-23 depending on the insurance. Unfortunately, I am having to pay $6000 out of pocket to get braces. Again, depending on the condition of the teeth, would determine how much you pay. Some orthodontists have a set rate. You are probably going to get up paying roughly between $3000-$7000 depending on the treatment that is needed. I hope this helps.

check w/your orthodontist and insurance coverage - some companies do cover most of the cost if you have 'elected' that particular service. If not, there are ways again which the doctor would discuss to pay in installments. Lastly, they're both pretty expensive - metal braces are obviously more 'visable' since you're 29 I'd suggest Invisaline - which not all docs do - BUT... they do work and are roughly $6 -7K.... they do require many visits as well. While metal braces are 'adjusted' once you have them on - Invisaline's are molds that each couple months (as an example it depends how much straightening you required) they have to make new impressions and another set - they are totally invisible and you take them out only when you eat.

Hi!

Just so you know, not everyone is a candidate for invisalign. When you go to your dentist they would take a wax up of your teeth and send it in to a lab and determine whether or not you would benefit from treatment. That being said, if you're teeth aren't horribly crooked or crowded, you very well could be.

Insurance does not cover these procedures as they are considered cosmetic. If you check out the site below, you can learn more about the treatments, whree to find a cosmetic dentist in your area to get a free consultation, and a general idea of cost. Hope this helps.

Many of your questions are answered at our website, ArchWired.com. Surf over and browse around.

Invisalign usually works best for people with only minor crowding and no bite issues.

Roughly, 2 years of braces costs about $5,000.

Many insurance plans do not cover adult orthodontics. But you should check with your plan first to make sure.

If you wind up signing up with a dental discount plan, remember that they only cover orthodontic treatment that is not already in progress.

Holly what your acquaintances imagine shouldn't count number in case you want braces and do not get them it ought to reason some terrible soreness to the overlapping tooth as you become old. Your roots commence bumping jointly and boy do I bear in thoughts that soreness!!!!!! do not forget your tooth. the following is my propose: do no longer do the sparkling!! Why? The sparkling is sparkling and really invisible yet they're very cumbersome and could be considered baring on your lips once you mouth is close. I absolutely have the wide-spread metallic braces with silver bands, they blend with the metallic and they particularly bulge! reliable success!

I had to get five teeth removed for my braces. I got mine at 19 and had them for two years. My insurance covered orthodontia so I was alright for my doctor's visits. I think braces (along with visits) run roughly $4000 if I'm not mistaken.

It's true that normal metal braces work better than invisible ones. You should definetely consult your orthodontist to see which is right for you. If think invisible are cheaper, but keep in mind that they don't work as well.

It will cost about $4000 dollars, but in the long run in like a year your teeth will be straight.
