Especially considering that there are two different creation myths, back to back, one with EL as the creator and one with YAW. These are just Sumerian and Canaanite myths that are known to Archaeologists.

The order of creation is all wrong in the first one; the 'World' (not Earth) predates the sun, plants are created before the sun (ever hear of photosynthesis?), the entire universe is created as an afterthought, taking less time than plants on our flat earth.

Apparently, Adam named all of the animals, which is a quaint little story, but here in reality scientists are still naming and classifying them. Funny how Adam didn't bother to write any of the names down. What was the point of naming them if you weren't going to record anything you did? Silly little fables are not a substitute for real science.

Nothing about this Creation Myth is remotely credible, and yet several billion people believe in it, to varying degrees.

Why do you people cling to your silly stories?

That is frustrating, isn't it? I know. The Bible doesn't say where Cain's wife came from. It doesn't even say he took his wife along when he left, and usually it would say something like that. A couple of things I've noticed in Genesis. I can never remember chapter and verse, but I was reading this just the other night. At one point, it says God created male and female and called their name Adam. So it almost sounds as if Adam is a collective name, like human race is a collective name. Then after Adam and Eve messed up, God tells Eve He will "greatly multiply" her pain in conception. How do you multiply something that hasn't happened yet? Did Eve have children in Eden? And how many people were in that garden? Did He make more than just the one couple? Or another thing I've heard is that the blood line would have been so pure, that maybe what we call incest wasn't that big a deal at that point. This is the kind of thing that will drive you crazy. Sorry for my lame "answer". Good question. God bless.

The better question is, why do alot of cultures from around the world all have a Great Flood myth? There is a bit of truth to everything, you just gotta dig through the crap to get to it. Since history used to be taught orally (before writing and such), the best way to explain things and pass it on to people was to spice it up, maybe add a bit of your own interpretation to it. Since all of these religions and even cultures have varying degrees of similarities it isn't too hard to extrapolate that their might have been a time when everything was the same and as people spread out the differences were added on later. The Tower of babel effect, if you will.

Muslims don't believe the same creation theory as the Bible.

Firstly the Bible does not state anything about the Big Bang unlike the Quran:

Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?[21:30]

Creation of the Universe in Six Days
As per the Bible, in the first book of Genesis in Chapter One, the universe was created in six days and each day is defined as a twenty-four hours period. Even though the Qur’an mentions that the universe was created in six ‘Ayyaams’, ‘Ayyaam’ is the plural of years; this word has two meanings: firstly, it means a standard twenty-four hours period i.e. a day, and secondly, it also means stage, period or epoch which is a very long period of time.

When the Qur’an mentions that the universe was created in six ‘Ayyaams’, it refers to the creation of the heavens and the earth in six long periods or epochs; scientists have no objection to this statement. The creation of the universe has taken billions of years, which proves false or contradicts the concept of the Bible which states that the creation of the Universe took six days of twenty-four hour durations each.

Sun Created After the Day
The Bible says in chapter 1, verses 3-5, of Genesis that the phenomenon of day and night was created on the first day of creation of the Universe by God. The light circulating in the universe is the result of a complex reaction in the stars; these stars were created according to the Bible (Genesis chapter 1 verse 14 to 19) on the fourth day. It is illogical to mention the result that is the light (the phenomenon of day and night) was created on the first day of Creation when the cause or source of the light was created three days later. Moreover the existence of evening and morning as elements of a single day is only conceivable after the creation of the earth and its rotation around the sun. In contrast with the contents of the Bible on this issue, the Qur’an does not give any unscientific sequence of Creation. Hence it is absolutely absurd to say that Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) copied the passages pertaining to the creation of the universe from the Bible but missed out this illogical and fantastic sequence of the Bible.

Creation of the Sun, The Earth and the Moon
According to the Bible, Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verses 9 to 13, the earth was created on the third day, and as per verses 14 to 19, the sun and the moon were created on the fourth day. The earth and the moon emanated, as we know, from their original star, the Sun. Hence to place the creation of the sun and the moon after the creation of the earth is contrary to the established idea about the formation of the solar system.

Vegetation Created on the third day and Sun on the fourth day
According to the Bible, Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verses 11-13, vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as has been stated in the Bible?

If Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) was indeed the author of the Qur’an and had copied its contents from the Bible, how did he manage to avoid the factual errors that the Bible contains? The Qur’an does not contain any statements which are incompatible with scientific facts.

The Sun and the Moon both Emit light
According to the Bible both the sun and the moon emit their own light. In the Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verse 16 says, "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night".

Science tells us today that the moon does not have its own light. This confirms the Qur’anic concept that the light of the moon is a reflected light. To think that 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) corrected these scientific errors in the Bible and then copied such corrected passages in the Qur’an is to think of something impossible.

Are you serious? And you probably think that you are wise! Wait and see. God said that in the latter days, knowledge would increase. There's too much to even mention. Why didn't someone do it millions of years ago? Or thousands of years ago? I'll tell you why, Gods WORD is truth.

Just to clarify you, Muslims do not believe it to happen that way. All that was written in the Qu'ran is that the Earth was created in 6 periods.

(Wikipedia big bang, you can see the 6 stages it took from big bang to modern day Earth).
