My best friend needs my help. Her boyfriend for 2 months, who is by the way 14 years older then her is very insurcure with himself. They have agruement about topics that are not even topics. And he keeps telling her that maybe they should not be together because he does not want to hold her back. Now she very strong minded and that is the least for her concern. So now she is wonder should she end it now or try to make it work?

I think that if they are having the silly arguments this early in the relationship its just a preview of what's to come.
not to mention this guy is considerably older than your friend. age is just a number and shouldnt be a factor in determining whether or not a relationship should exist, but in this case when you throw in all the other components it could be the straw to break the camel's back you know?
your friend should explore her options. there is more than one guy out there that can make her happy.
as far as insecurities with him goes, its cruel but that shouldnt be her problem... she cant just stay with him and be unhappy so that he can be happy.

Sounds like he's trying to play the pitty game with her. He wants control of her and if she stays then that is exactly what she is giving him. And everytime he doesn't get his way he's gonna play that game with her. So I think it's time to end it. Not much time and effort has been put into the relationship now but if she stays she is gonna constantly have to work her A** off on the relationship.

I think he's trying to tell her he wants to break up, but doesn't have the balls to do it.

Your friend will NEVER be able to make this man secure or happy with himself and will wear herself out trying to. My advice to your very confident and strong minded friend is to let this one go and find a man who is equally confident and will appreciate, rather than resent her.

I'd say sit down and have one serious talk about it and it'll be figured out sooner or later. Hope this helps. Communication is the key to a healthy relationship.
