I'm glad they do I have a very good friend that was a strong atheist and could tell you everything wrong with the Bible and he use the Bible to tell you. Today he is one of the strongest Christians I know because he spent so much time trying to prove Bible wrong I hope more can learn from the research

Because just the same as christians, they delight in isolating a single passage of the bible and taking it out of context to try to prove a point on a bad premise.

For the same reason they quote from The Godfather... Being atheist doesn't necessarily mean not being interest in the Bible

Atheists believe the bible is a human-made book and so like all other humans have a human right to use it.

it's god they don't believe in, not a book, (the book is actually mostly interesting, I probably know it better than most christians) and the best way to deal with obnoxious christians is to use the bible, as they don't believe in science or anything else. It's also fun to turn their own book on them to discredit their beliefs.

When you argue or debate, it's important to use evidence those you are debating with accept as evidence. Since an atheist will be arguing with a theist (presumably Christian) he/she uses evidence acceptable by the opposing debatee. Clear now?

Because of their lack of knowledge about the Bible as a whole they like to take select passages and say they contradict another passage. It helps them to stay in there denial
