we are not to make any engraved idols? I see millions of Americans idolizing/worshipping money; putting money before God in their lives. I understand American history and our founding fathers, Christians settling here and such. But after all these years and America becoming more secular, I'm surporised that "In God We Trust" is still on our money. Plus God wants us to worship Him, not money. Our money won't save our souls in the end.
Just looking for your thoughts on this. Thanks!

I feel honoured as an American citizen that our forefathers had the intelligence to show the respect we have toward the creator by putting this wonderful motto on our currency. I'm told that we are the only nation in the word that has done this.

Well it did not start until 1957, prior to that the words "In God We Trust" did not appear on the dollar bill.
It was added to distinguish America from the Communist Movement, since a core value of communism is atheism.

I don't think God is that insecure.
Why would God feel the need to have someone worship Him?
I think God just wants us to love him.
What would God have to be insecure about anyway?

its sad considering Jesus was against the jewish clergy in his day wanting money to go to temple to pray.also what about the seperation of church and state. its just insulting to have the goverment do this with money.the should put something like. the unted states goverment we will not be happy until we rule the world that would be more like it

Whenever I see "In God we trust" on money I mentally tack on "all others pay cash".
