Jacks Full House ~
Historically he's not, but maybe he is to you and in the long run that's all that matters is what you believe. There have been better fighters in the Heavyweight division over the years and decades. The same way people use to admire Tyson's power there were people going admiring Shavers,Liston and Marciano.

There was only so much that Mike Tyson could do in the ring and there was plenty he could do outside of the ring but who am I to judge? History will not be kind to "Iron" Mike. I was and still am a huge fan of the fighter, he came along in a era after the boring and trash talking Larry Holmes, a breath of fresh air if you will.

A young Tyson or a old Tyson it was still exciting to see him punch because he will always have a punchers chance. Mike is Mike he's never going to change at one time he was controlled but never changed.

Thanks for the question.

Can you honestly believe that Mike Tyson could beat George Foreman? Marciano had a better KO percentage than Tyson, as did Foreman. Tyson did face some boxers who were not afraid of a crazy man. Holyfield, Douglas, Lewis exposed a defenseless slugger. Tyson was a slugger not a boxer. Ali is the greatest boxer.

That must be a joke. Tyson had a quick spirt on top of the boxing world but never recovered after Douglas upset him with an unbelievable knockout. He went to jail, got out and blew whatever slight bit of respectablity he had as a boxer and now lingers around as a joke to some and to others an example of why boxing should be banned. I love boxing, its a great sport, but Tyson (as a whole) hurts the sport. He was fascinating to watch for a while, beating Berbick, spinx, an old holmes, and a few other good looking knockouts but as far as being rated among the greats, it would be insane to truly rank him even in the top 20. Of course thats my opinion.

He may be to you, and like most peoples opinion are based upon era, likes and dislikes of boxers style. The general consenous of the real boxing community has the Top Ten Heavyweights like this:

Ali
Louis

Jack Johnson
George Foreman
Jack Dempsey
Sonny Liston
Larry Holmes
Rocky Marciano
Lexox Lewis
Joe Frazier(t)
Mike Tyson(t)

These are in no particular order except Ali and Louis who are consenous1 and 2. Lewis gets the nod over Tyson by virture of having beat him; Frazier and Tyson would have to fight it out to be 10th.

A combination of his blindlingly fast speed, his perfect defense, AMAZING power, endless energy, and masterful ring knowledge makes him the best ever. People complain because he lost a few times... ALL OF THE GREATS DID! They SAY Ali was better. But Trevor Berbick whooped him easier than hell. Couple years later Tyson got a hold of him and look at how long that lasted for. Holmes beat Ali, and look at what Tyson did to him too. What if Ali were to step in there? People say, "But Ali beat Foreman and Liston." OK, Liston stayed on his stool in the first fight... not KOed, then Liston's rematch was OBVIOUSLY a fix. Ali didn't even make contact and that knocked Liston out? Unlikely. OK, he beat Foreman, but 2 things about that. A) Foreman NEVER got his Ali rematch because Ali was scared. B) Ali NEVER could have endured a beating that long from Tyson. Foreman and Liston (and Frazier too) were NOT the complete package like Tyson. People say he is not the greatest because they hate him, they remember his few losses and forget ALL those wins... it rediculous.

He isn't and never would have been! He was probably the most exciting heavyweight boxer to watch but not the best. Tyson was overrated, once he could no longer intimidate fighters his true skills showed. The best never quit on their stool.

i'm definitely taken aback that Brickfist whom all of us understand to be the only spectacular Tyson fan might say that Tyson has much less punching means than human beings think of. properly i think of nonetheless that if the assessment is with Ernie Shavers, its probable very perplexing to assert "confident Tyson hit extra solid than Shavers." That only would not make experience. Tyson is only too small to hit that perplexing with one punch. it style of feels logical that adult adult males like Foreman or Shavers hit extra solid than him. on the different hand if Tyson had extra ideal stability and style, it would make contributions to him having a miles better punch. yet with out being hit with the aid of the two of them, i might guess that Shavers hit extra solid.

I think Ali was the greatest that ever was. Tyson is a crackhead rapist, even at the height of his career I told people he would end up in jail, he has retard strength, that's why he was a good boxer.

NO one ever did it like him in his prime, he was a stalker more than a boxer...he stalked his prey and then beat them into submission. It is a shame that he got the people around him after Cuss died, that he did because they did not look after him like he needed to be!
