My 15 year old daughter and her 18 year old boyfriend have been dating for about 3 years now. They both go to high school and have very good jobs working at Walmart making over $100,000 a year. They are very smart and mature for their ages and are very much in love. They are considering have a baby together. My husband thinks that it will be a good idea for them because they will get to learn about responsibility and parenthood all in one. Some of my relatives think that they are too young for this and should wait a couple of years but I don't agree with that. Why shouldn't my 15 year old daughter and her 18 year old boyfriend have a baby together if that's what they really want to do?

15 is way to young to have a baby. She really should wait till she is out of high school. Otherwise if she has a baby at her age now, she may not finish school.

First of all I hardly believe they are making over $100,000 a year at the ages of 15 and 18. What part of the country do you come from? Here in my state of Washington you have to be 16 to get a job and Walmart only pays min, with min hours. Secondly, they are both kids still. Way to young to have a baby. So they have been together 3 years, that could change in a heart beat. They really should be focusing on being young and enjoying life right now. Having a baby at 15 is ridiculous. Are you sure you aren't just wanting this for yourself. Having a baby is a huge responsibility. A fifteen year old no mater how mature she is really isn't mentally capable for the "responsibilities for the long haul" you could be pushing them towards disaster.

Having a baby at 15 is too young for a lot of reasons. Even if they are mature for their age, they should finish school and get a good education... and it's hard to raise a baby when you're that young because you lose all of your free time. My little sister got pregnant when she was 16 and she's 19 now with a 2 1/2 year old and she's great with him, and he's the smartest kid... but she still feels like she's missing out on all the things that her friends get to do that she doesn't. Although she'll never regret having her baby, she would have waited to have him if she could turn back time.

It's a big emotional change, it's a huge lifestyle change... and although these kids might have the money to do it, they should think about the future and their goals in life first too.

your 15 yr old daughter is not even an adult yet. Being a parent you need to guide her in the right direction like SCHOOL. Making a 100k at Walmart?? what do they do there? own the place?....lol A friend of the family is one of the big shots for walmart and travelles to Japan alot and he doesnt make over 100K a year. Anyway, if you want to show your daughter responability you need to show her in the proper way instead of having a baby.
Are they even married? living together? let them take small steps before desiding on having a baby.
All girls wants babies but they dont realize just how much work it involves. If they are really really wanting this, tell them to take a parent course for teen agers whiich they would have to carry a fake baby around for a month 24 hrs a day, which cries, pees, poo's and drinks and sometimes sleeps. The fake baby is robotic and it will tell the teacher just how often you are feeding the baby, changing, and holding it, handeling it. Most teenagers give up after the 3rd week and some fail due to frustration and being rough with the fake baby. Put your daughter and her boyfriend to the test to see if she can handle it first.

Are you in that big of a hurry to be a grandmother??? How are they making $100,000 at walmart when your daughter is still in school? What are they doing to make that much in a year? This is your daughters choice but since she is 15 she is considered a minor and as her parent i donot uderstand why you are letting your 15 year old date an 18 and have sex!?! and when looking at your other posts you are adding your husband into the dicision on your 15 year olds life choise? IS this the same husband that video taped you being raped by your father in law?????? I think cys should get involved and give your daughter a normal childhood!

Making that much money at Wal-mart at the age of 15 sounds like a load of crap. Second of all, your daughter is still a baby herself. Does she plan to work at Wal-Mart the rest of her life? What about college? Does she know that a baby is forever and there is no going back once it gets here. Has she even been around babies to know that they are hard work. If she is so mature, then why can't she at least wait until she's 18. Grow up lady and smell the coffee.

I think that having a baby at 15 is way to young.
they need to take some time to find out what they really want in life.Having a baby is a big responsibility just because you have a baby does not make you a good parent.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DAUGHTER AND HER BOYFRIEND ARE PRETTY BUSY BETWEEN WORK AND HIGH SCHOOL SO IT REALLY WOULDNT BE FAIR TO THE BABY. IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE ELSE WOULD BE RAISING THE CHILD WHILE THEY FINISH THEIR EDUCATION. THEY SHOULD BE MARRIED, THEY SHOULD OWN A HOME, THEY SHOULD BE EDUCATED, THEY SHOULD HAVE BENEFITS, AND THEN THEY SHOULD BRING A CHILD IN THIS WORLD. IF YOU ARE ENCOURAGING YOUR 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER TO HAVE A BABY IT SHOWS YOUR EDUCATION LEVEL AND THIS WILL BE AN ENDLESS CYCLE YOUR DUAGHTER WILL BE GRANDMA WHEN SHE IS 30 YRS OLD.
