Unfortunately not.
There is no database for reverse listings (as far as I know).

Phone it back but withhold your number so they don't know it's you. Dial 141 in front of the number!?!

If it's an 0845/0870 number check out www.saynoto0870.com to see if listed there.

If persists contact your service provider although they can't tell you who it belongs to - they can black the number from calling you.. If you're with BT service is called Choose To Refuse - It's free for 1 month and if you want to continue with it - it's 3.35 per month or 10.05 per quarter.

Hope helps slightly.

It may well be an automated dialer where a user dials thousands of numbers at once and only answers 10, so the chance is you'll get no reply when you pick up. Try registering with the telephone preference service (number in phone book). It takes a while but they do somemagic thing and the calls should stop. It worked for me.

Ring the number. If it's a marketing call, you will get a 'this number does not receive incoming calls' recorded voice.
If it's a private number it will ring, so hang up right away.
Dial 141 before you ring the number and then they won't know who's called them.
Also, report it to BT, and they can arrange for that number to be blocked to your phone.

Type it into google (try it with and without spaces). If its a marketing call, the company/agency should be listed on the net and u can find out who they are.
